DNHN - This will be an ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing place to immerse themselves in nature without feeling bored or monotonous.
An Giang is famous throughout Vietnam for its many scenic spots such as Thien Cam Son, Ta Pa Lake, and the Oc Eo archaeological site, along with several prominent eco-tourism destinations in the Mekong Delta. Among these, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest stands out with its mysterious, unique beauty and currently leads the vote for the "Most Attractive Tourist Destination in Ho Chi Minh City and the 13 Provinces of the Mekong Delta" in 2024 (organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper). This will be an ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing place to immerse themselves in nature without feeling bored or monotonous.

Leaving the hustle and bustle of city life behind, visitors can sit on a small wooden boat, steered by women in traditional "ba ba" shirts who double as guides. They will take you along the forest, introducing unique and interesting spots that can only be found here. While sitting and enjoying the green scenery, listening to the soft sounds of paddles slicing through the water, and the distant chirping of birds echoing from the Melaleuca canopy, visitors will undoubtedly feel relaxed as if they’ve drifted into a beautiful fairyland.

From September to November every year, Tra Su Forest dons a graceful "gown." When the floodwaters fill the forest, the lush green trees and velvet-like duckweed blanket the canals. Beneath the water, fish and shrimp swim joyfully, while thousands of birds soar above. In the distance, lotus and water lilies bloom, greeting the season on the silt-laden river. Experiencing a visit during the flood season is one of the most unforgettable activities.

Another highlight is the 10 km long bamboo bridge that winds through the Tra Su Melaleuca Forest, inaugurated in early 2020. Its unique architecture is crafted from bamboo strips. Along the bridge, there are rest huts, and the further you go, the more beautiful and serene the surroundings become. Notably, the bridge leads to the motorboat station, where visitors can change their route if desired.

You can also check-in at the "Pigeon City," a favorite spot for many tourists. Occasionally, flocks of pigeons appear, creating a picturesque and romantic scene reminiscent of Europe. It’s a perfect location for wedding photos with an artistic concept.
Moreover, visitors can enjoy the Traditional Music & Dance Show and Loto Show, visit organic vegetable gardens, try coracle rowing, practice archery for free, or explore the set of the movie "Dat Rung Phuong Nam." Before leaving, don't forget to stop by the souvenir shop to purchase special products from the Bay Nui region such as palm sugar, melaleuca honey, dried fish, beverages, melaleuca oil, handwoven brocade scarves, conical hats, and wooden crafts to bring back for friends and family.
After these unforgettable experiences at the eco-tourism site, visitors can rest in the leaf huts surrounded by water and enjoy delicious Mekong Delta specialties such as honey-glazed grilled chicken, fried rat with fish sauce, grilled snakehead fish, caramelized climbing perch, braised linh fish, and fermented fish hotpot.

According to locals, the best times to take beautiful photos here are around 9 AM when the sunlight awakens the Tra Su Forest, making it sparkle like never before, or between 5 PM and 6 PM when the sun sets, and visitors can climb the observation tower to watch flocks of birds return to their nests, closing out a peaceful day in the borderland. To fully appreciate the true "Goodness - Truth - Beauty" of this iconic Mekong Delta eco-tourism destination, you should visit soon.
