Of the total visitors, over 80,000 were international tourists — a year-on-year increase of 35%. Tourism revenue reached approximately 4.5 trillion VND (around 180 million USD), marking an impressive 80% surge compared to the same period in 2024.

The surge in travel demand led to high occupancy rates across 3- to 5-star hotels, many of which were fully booked on September 1. Overall, the average occupancy rate for hotels and serviced apartments reached 83%, up 22.6 percentage points from last year.

Accommodation and service providers were required to strictly adhere to regulations on safety, fire prevention, sanitation, and food hygiene, ensuring a secure and pleasant experience for all guests.

To mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, Hanoi organized a wide array of cultural, artistic, and tourism promotion events. Notable highlights included the “Red Ba Dinh” program, the launch of the double-decker “Hanoi Train” service, community activities in Bat Trang pottery village and Duong Lam ancient village, as well as open-top bus tours across the city.

The national exhibition “80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness,” held at the National Exhibition Centre in Dong Anh District, attracted approximately 1.2 million visitors within just three days, from August 28 to 31.

Key tourist destinations also experienced a sharp uptick in attendance: the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Hanoi Zoo welcomed around 33,000 visitors; the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site nearly 26,500; the Temple of Literature 18,000; and Ba Vi National Park over 3,100. Central museums, which offered free admission from September 1 to 3, also drew significant crowds.

On the evening of September 2, fireworks displays at five major locations — including Hoan Kiem Lake, Lac Long Quan Park, Van Quan Lake, Thong Nhat Park, and My Dinh National Stadium — along with citywide cultural and artistic performances, helped reinforce Hanoi’s image as a safe, vibrant, and attractive destination.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism reported that local destinations enhanced service quality while maintaining security, traffic order, environmental cleanliness, and food safety. No major incidents or negative occurrences were reported throughout the holiday period.
