The German beer culture festival “GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2022” officially returns after a 2-year hiatus

DNHN - On the afternoon of August 24, the German Business Association in Vietnam (GBA), in collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) and the JW Marriott Hanoi Hotel held GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2022 press conference. This is the most anticipated German cultural event in Vietnam and is expected to return in Hanoi as well as Ho Chi Minh City in September and October this year.

Oktoberfest Vietnam” is the largest annual cultural event organized in Vietnam by the German Business Association in Vietnam (GBA), in collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) and JW Marriott Hanoi Hotel, under the auspices of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Alexander Gotz, Chairman of GBA emphasized, GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam has officially returned after 2 years of delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The year 2022 is a milestone marking 30 years of continuing the Oktoberfest tradition established many years ago by the German business community in Vietnam.

The organizers will constantly improve to create the most authentic space of the event in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. For many years now, the festival has been raised to the level of the original when held in a traditional German beer tent, with imported German beer, traditional German music and quintessential German cuisine.
The first Oktoberfest cultural event held in 1992 has made a special mark in the series of social and cultural events taking place in Vietnam, welcoming more than 9,000 local and international guests throughout. The festival takes place 6 nights in Hanoi capital and Ho Chi Minh city.
During the past 30 years, “GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam” has become an annual event to introduce German culture and traditions to Vietnamese people, and at the same time, a bridge to promote exchanges and cooperation between Germany and Vietnam, 2022 marks a particularly important milestone as we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first German Beer festival in Vietnam. And after a 2-year delay due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic- 19, the most anticipated German cultural event, is finally back in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in September and October. This year the festival will continue to welcome everyone through ticket sales.
- In Hanoi, the festival will take place in 4 days from Thursday, September 29 to Sunday, October 2 at JW Marriott Hanoi hotel; from 6pm to 11pm. Especially this year, you will experience Family Day with your family on Sunday, October 2, from 16:00 to 21:00, with many fun activities for the whole family such as ring throwing, bowling, face painting, making crafts, special performances, food and drinks for children.
- In Ho Chi Minh City, the festival will take place at Nikko Saigon Hotel for 3 days from Thursday, October 6 to Saturday, October 8; from 6pm to 11pm.
Also at the press conference, Mr. Marko Walde - Chief Representative of AHK Vietnam shared: “We are pleased to welcome you to GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2022 October - one of the most anticipated events of the year. in Vietnam, in order to introduce traditional German culture as well as promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, Germany and Vietnam. This is also a great opportunity for the German business community, Vietnamese businesses and international businesses in Vietnam to meet and interact with each other as well as with their partners, colleagues and friends. I hope that GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2022 will be the beginning of new cooperation relationships.”
This year, the event will feature 8 beers including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, famous German imported draft beers loved at Oktoberfest such as Erdinger and Hofbrau Munich (HB) and a range of beers. upscale domestic from 7 Bridges in Da Nang and Victoria in Hue…
