DNHN - According to Notice No. 349/TB-BGTVT conclusion of the Minister of Transport, the Ministry requested the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to urgently study the investment and operation of non-stop toll collection using recognition camera technology at the airport. The aim is to limit the delay, flight cancellation, passenger congestion in the security screening area, and the delay in releasing passengers and goods after the plane lands.

Mr. Nguyen Van The - Minister of Transport said that Vietnam's aviation industry is recovering quickly, especially domestic air transport has increased dramatically. This result is the effort of the whole system, specialized State management agencies and aviation enterprises. However, the delay and cancellation of flights by airlines, congestion of passengers in security screening areas, and passenger clearance... are causing a lot of frustration, directly affecting passengers.
To overcome this situation, the Ministry of Transport has directed a number of related issues. Regarding the control and screening of aviation security; slot management, flight planning, the Ministry requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with relevant agencies and units in, setting up a working group to inspect screening areas at airports. Especially at today's key airports; ensure the coordination and management of flight slots, flight plan (allocation of night flight time) at the airport in accordance with the capacity of the airport (passengers, cargo).
As for baggage clearance after the plane lands, at present, ground service enterprises have not met the demand for baggage clearance service after the plane landed. Therefore, ground service providers urgently review the service process and operating plan to develop a service plan suitable for exploitation activities, especially during the peak holiday season Independence Day, Lunar New Year...
In addition, the Ministry of Transport urgently studies the investment and operation of a non-stop toll collection system with camera technology to identify vehicles entering and leaving the airport to avoid congestion at Noi Bai airport and Tan Son Nhat airport.
In the past time, the situation of passengers having difficulty in picking up the car or being pressured on the price when taking a taxi has caused frustration for people and businesses. Therefore, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam should soon equip the camera system in front of the airport, coordinate with relevant local authorities to strengthen inspection, supervision and handling administrative violations, ensuring the correct implementation of regulations on stopping and parking at the airport. In addition, adding signposts, information at the pick-up and drop-off points of passengers to/from the airport terminal, enhancing information and propaganda for passengers and people to choose the appropriate mode of transportation.
