Phu Tho province promotes cooperation with Laotian provinces

DNHN - The Party committee, administration, and people of Phu Tho province consistently pursue cooperative and friendly connections with places based on the two nations' friendly relationship, unique solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. Laos grew in both width and depth.
The year 2022 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022).
In particular, President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Suphanouvong laid the groundwork for the good traditional relationship and faithful attachment between the peoples of Vietnam and Laos, which has been nurtured by successive generations of leaders of the two Parties, States, and peoples of the two countries.
Many high-ranking officials of the Lao Party and State, as well as leaders of Lao communities, have visited and worked in Phu Tho province in recent years. Phu Tho province also dispatched many delegations to visit, work on, and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on a cooperation program with several Northern Laos provinces.
Over the years, Phu Tho's collaborative relationship with Lao People's Democratic Republic localities has also been expanded, particularly with Laos' northern provinces (Luong Nam Tha, Phong Sa Ly, U Dom Xay, Luang Prabang, Bo Keo). Vinh Phu province (former) has been twinned with Luong Nam Tha province since 1979, ushering in a new era in the two provinces' connection. Vinh Phu province (former) provided non-refundable funding to Luong Nam Tha province to help establish several projects between 1979 and 1988.
Phu Tho and Luong Nam Tha's amicable cooperative partnership has grown increasingly tight. The people and leaders of the two provinces have long worked together to overcome obstacles and aid each other in the growth and prosperity of their respective countries. From 2005 to the present, Phu Tho province has assisted Luong Nam Tha province in the construction of numerous projects, including the Provincial National Assembly Building, the School of Politics and Administration of Luong Nam Tha Province, the Provincial Public Security Hospital, and the Center for Training of cadres of Luong Nam Tha Province, while also creating favourable conditions for businesses seeking investment opportunities, economic and trade cooperation.
In particular, the two provinces constantly promote and educate all classes of people, particularly the young generation, about the heritage of unique links between Vietnam and Laos. Phu Tho province has assisted Luong Nam Tha province in training numerous officials in art, education, health, agricultural mechanics, food processing, and so on.
Currently, almost 200 Lao students from the provinces of Luong Nam Tha, Phong Sa Ly, U Dom Xay, and Luang Prabang are studying at Hung Vuong University and Medical College- Phu-Tho.
During a working session with a delegation from the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam led by Mr Seng-Phet Hung-Bun-Nhuong - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR as Head of the delegation, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee - Phan Trong Tan stated: "Over the years, the cooperation relationship between Phu Tho province and localities in Laos has become more and The Memorandum of Understanding agreed between Phu Tho province and the areas of Laos has been properly executed under the leadership of the two nations' local administrations."
