Long An Province (Vietnam) Organizes Labor Promotion Workshop with Okayama City (Japan)

As part of a working trip to promote investment and labor in various localities in Japan, on the afternoon of October 10, 2024, a delegation from Long An Province, led by Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Hải, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation for Long An Province, held a labor promotion workshop for Long An Province, Vietnam, with Okayama City, Japan. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Matsuda Hisashi, Chairman of the Okayama Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with members of the Okayama Business Association and Japanese companies interested in recruiting workers from the province to work in Okayama.

In his welcoming speech, Mr. Matsuda Hisashi expressed his pleasure at hosting the Long An delegation. He mentioned that in 2023, the Long An delegation had also visited Okayama City and signed a Memorandum of Understanding. In April 2024, a delegation from the Okayama Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited several production facilities and was very impressed by the development potential and infrastructure of Long An International Port. He is confident that Long An will achieve significant growth in the near future and hopes for more exchanges like this through various cooperative connection channels. Currently, there is a labor shortage in Japan, while Long An has a young and skilled workforce. Therefore, in the coming time, the support of Long An's leadership and businesses in sending workers to Japan is crucial to enhance the workforce shortage at factories in Okayama.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phạm Tấn Hòa, expressed gratitude to Mr. Matsuda Hisashi, Chairman of the Okayama Chamber of Commerce, and all members of the Okayama City Council, businesses, and distinguished guests for coordinating to organize the workshop. This event allows both sides to meet, share, and discuss enhancing cooperation in human resources between the two localities. The workers from Long An are characterized by their diligence, hard work, and quick absorption of scientific and technical knowledge, as well as professional skills. Overall, the human resources of Long An not only maintain a reasonable growth rate in quantity but have also shown significant improvements in quality, laying the groundwork for further enhancing the workforce in the future.

During the workshop, both sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and aimed to better meet the demand for skilled labor. Long An Province always values and is ready to welcome and create favorable conditions for investors and businesses looking to recruit workers from Okayama, Japan.

Later that afternoon, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Okayama City Mayor Mr. Omori Masao. During the meeting, the mayor expressed his delight at welcoming the delegation back to Okayama, which signifies the interest in developing cooperation between the two sides since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2024. The mayor highly appreciated the human resources that Long An Province can provide to work at businesses in Okayama. He also noted that following his visit to Long An in 2023, there are many potential areas for cooperation, especially as Long An has many conditions for further development. On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Hải extended thanks to Mayor Omori Masao for the warm welcome and expressed interest in discussing cooperation areas in the future, as well as the infrastructure of industrial zones that meet the needs of investors from Okayama coming to operate in Long An.
