DNHN - The 2-9 vacation lasts four days, but the number of people buying excursions and hotels in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa climbed just modestly during the weekend.
Leaders of the Khanh Hoa Travel Association, in particular, and tourism facilities in Nha Trang City in general, confessed that "this year's holiday, the number of travellers is not as high as in past years before the Covid-19 pandemic." During the four days of public holidays, Long Phu Tourism Company received around 1,500 visitors to the Hoa Lan and Monkey Island Tourist Areas; tours lasting three days and two nights had approximately 200 visitors. The number of retail clients from adjacent provinces is expected to be 1,500-2,000. On August 30, Viet Promotion Service and Tourism Co., Ltd received three groups of around 200 visitors who were on a tour of the sea and islands.

The scenario is similar in the hotel industry. Close to the vacation, 3-5 star hotels in Nha Trang only achieve 50% of room capacity on average. The number of customers booked more rooms at Bai Dai resorts such as Alma, The Anam, Fusion Cam Ranh, Radisson Blu... but only reached 60-75%. Mr Vo Quang Hoang, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Hotel Association, noted: "For many years, the reality has shown that families who need to travel for vacation have almost disappeared during the summer tourist season; at this time, students are preparing to return to school, so families do not want to travel far. Meanwhile, international tourists to Khanh Hoa are few and far between. As a result, even if the 2-9 holiday lasts four days, the number of tourists will be limited."
According to our study, hotels in front of Tran Phu street, such as Grand Gosia, Queen An, Vesna, Melisa, Muong Thanh Luxury Khanh Hoa..., have room capacities of up to 80%; hotels in the inner streets, with a huge number of rooms, have room capacities of only approximately 35%.
