DNHN - By 2025, Ca Mau aims to attract 8.4 million visitors and achieve a total revenue exceeding 8,585 billion VND, contributing to the province's double-digit growth target.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau Province, the National Day holiday on September 2 this year saw an increase in both the number of visitors and tourism revenue compared to the same period last year.
From August 30 to noon on September 2, Ca Mau welcomed over 120,000 visitors, marking a 19.64% increase compared to the same period in 2024 (100,181 visitors). Total revenue reached 126 billion VND, up 18.76% from the 106.1 billion VND recorded last year.
Popular tourist attractions remain highlights
Tourists mainly visited key sites such as Ca Mau Cape Tourist Area, Quan Am Phat Dai, Tac Say Church, Hon Da Bac, and several community-based tourism areas in Dat Mui, as well as Hung Vuong Square.
Tourism and cultural service providers proactively organized various activities to serve visitors, strictly maintained public pricing policies, ensured proper service quality, and upheld food safety standards. Notably, no cases of tourist harassment or overcharging were reported via the tourism hotline.
At the same time, localities throughout Ca Mau launched numerous cultural, sports, and entertainment events, integrated with commercial, shopping, and experiential activities to meet diverse visitor demands.
Transportation services were also improved in both quantity and quality, creating more favorable conditions for tourists to travel and relax during their stay in Ca Mau.
These positive results during the National Day holiday reflect the growing appeal of Ca Mau as a destination, affirming the proactive efforts of local authorities, service providers, and businesses in preparing and serving tourists effectively.
Prior to the holiday, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued an official document urging tourism service businesses to prepare in advance for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
This included detailed planning and the implementation of strict safety and security measures, alongside commitments to prevent harassment, overpricing, and unreasonable price hikes. Quick response teams and support staff were also deployed to assist tourists and promptly address any arising situations.
Located at Vietnam’s southernmost tip, Ca Mau is blessed with rich natural conditions and a diverse cultural identity, enabling the province to affirm its role as a dynamic and attractive tourism hub on the national map.
The recent administrative merger of Ca Mau and parts of former Bac Lieu Province is expected to unlock new development opportunities. The two areas share notable similarities, such as the mangrove ecosystem, long coastlines, and a rich blend of Kinh, Hoa, and Khmer cultures—all offering a strong foundation for tourism and cultural development.
While Bac Lieu is famous for its iconic “Da Co Hoai Lang” melody and the legendary Bac Lieu Dandy, Ca Mau is a land of sacred significance with landmarks tied to national heroes and distinctive southern traditions.
These shared and contrasting features create a strategic advantage for the region to develop eco-tourism, community-based tourism, and cultural heritage tourism, offering unique experiences for both domestic and international visitors.
Solid growth in the first half of 2025
In the first six months of 2025, Ca Mau welcomed approximately 1.58 million visitors, a 28.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, achieving 56.4% of the annual plan. Tourism revenue reached 2,140 billion VND, up 30%, fulfilling 51.2% of the year’s target.
The province has also intensified efforts in promotion, digital transformation, and technology application to enhance service quality and improve the overall image of Ca Mau tourism.
Several destinations have been invested in and upgraded with distinctive tourism products, such as mangrove ecosystem-based community models and heritage tourism routes combined with cultural landmarks like the Bac Lieu Dandy’s House.
Key destinations such as Ca Mau Cape, U Minh Ha National Park, Quan Am Phat Dai, and Khai Long Beach continue to draw strong visitor interest. The province is also actively participating in cultural–tourism festivals to promote OCOP products, local culinary culture, and other specialties, providing new momentum for socio-economic development following the administrative merger.
By 2025, Ca Mau aims to attract 8.4 million visitors and achieve total tourism revenue of over 8,585 billion VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau, the province will focus on completing key infrastructure projects, upgrading service quality, and promoting major destinations, including: Ca Mau Cape, U Minh Ha, Hon Da Bac, Tac Say Church, Mother Nam Hai Statue, Bac Lieu Dandy’s House, Nha Mat – Bac Lieu Tourist Area, and more.
These initiatives aim to position Ca Mau as a leading destination in Vietnam’s tourism development strategy for the coming years.
