Getting ready for the third Vietnam-Laos tourism and cultural exchange festival at the borderland

DNHN - On September 23, 2022, at 8 p.m, the opening ceremony of the festival will take place at 7-5 Square in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province.
The head of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, which is a permanent agency, said that 10 provinces of Vietnam, including Dien Bien, Son La, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, and Kon Tum, as well as 10 provinces of Laos that share a border with Vietnam, like Luang Prabang, Hua Phan, At Ta Pu, Se Cong, Van, Phong Sa Ly.
This is an important cultural event that will help strengthen the long-standing friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. It will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between the two countries (September 5, 1962–September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos (July 18, 1977 – July 18, 2022).
During the festival, there will be a lot of important events, such as the ceremony to burn incense at the Martyrs' Temple on the battlefield of Dien Bien Phu and the ceremony to visit the Tong Khao Martyrs Cemetery. Along with that, there will be cultural activities, space for displays and exhibitions to introduce and promote cultural and tourism products and socioeconomic achievements of the localities, and a community exhibition of ethnic minorities in the Vietnam-Laos border area.
As of today, August 19, the units and branches of Dien Bien province are putting a lot of effort into getting ready for the Festival. They are working hard to finish the stages of work, such as designing the exhibition booth, deciding which forces will take part in the Festival, evaluating the contents to spread foreign information, and setting rules for entry and exit. At the moment, tourism-related businesses, restaurants, and hotels have both their facilities and their service staff ready to welcome delegates and visitors to the Festival. Sightseeing tour in Dien Bien. Especially popular with tourists are the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum, the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument, Hill A1, the Hill A1 National Martyrs Cemetery, and the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command.
