Ensuring the supply of petroleum for the domestic market

DNHN - That is the affirmation of the Minister of Industry and Trade in an urgent online meeting with units affiliated to the ministry on ensuring petroleum supply for the domestic market on the morning of August 26.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that since the beginning of this year, in the context of the world's tense petroleum supply and the risk of disruption, the domestic the supply of gasoline and oil is always guaranteed, no fault situation. Along with that, the prices of petroleum products in Vietnam are basically kept stable, always lower than the prices of some countries in the region and in the world.
That is because the Ministry of Industry and Trade has grasped the situation early, so it has issued a document directing the leading petroleum traders to implement solutions to ensure the supply of gasoline. At the same time, businesses are required to have plans to increase the amount of imports to make up for the shortfall from domestic production. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has advised, proposed proposals to regulate taxes appropriately, effectively and rationally use the petrol and oil price stabilization fund....
However, according to Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, in recent days, especially after 7 key petroleum trading enterprises were temporarily stripped of their business licenses, there has been information on social networks claiming to be supply shortage.
“This is not normal; it needs to be checked and clarified and handled according to regulations. Two domestic oil refineries including Nghi Son and Binh Son are stabilizing production, providing about 80% of domestic petroleum sources. Importing activities have been proactive and delivered to businesses early, so it is confirmed that the supply is guaranteed to serve the domestic market “-Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized.
In order to stabilize the market and avoid incorrect information about the state of domestic petroleum supply, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien asked the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities to preside over and coordinate with market management forces conduct a general inspection and review of petrol and oil retail stores in the area, request petrol and oil business establishments to commit to strictly observe regulations on petrol and oil trading, have a plan to import goods to ensure Maintain sales continuously.
The Minister also requested the General Department of Market Management to direct local market management departments to preside over or coordinate with the local Departments of Industry and Trade and functional forces in the area to conduct regular and irregular inspections to promptly handle violations.
At the same time, the Department of Domestic Market requires businesses to strictly comply with regulations on petroleum trading, have a plan to import goods from domestic and imported sources to ensure an adequate and continuous supply of gasoline and oil to the market; In case enterprises do not comply with regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will revoke the business license.
