DNHN - This freeway is regarded to be the lifeblood of intercity travel. Ho Chi Minh City, together with the provinces of the Southeast, South Central, and Central Highlands, is vital to the socio-economic growth of the South.

After deploying the automated electronic non-stop (ETC) toll collecting system on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway. As instructed by the Government, Vietnam Expressway Development and Investment Corporation (26 July) continues to run the ETC system on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, five days ahead of schedule.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway (invested and exploited by VEC) is an arterial traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the Southeast, South Central, and Central Highlands provinces, and is a crucial infrastructure for socio-economic development in the South. The length of the highway is 55 kilometres, and the average daily traffic flow over the last three months has reached 55,000 cars.
This is one of the roadways connected to the Long Thanh International Airport, which is anticipated to open in 2025.

The minimum amount in the vehicle owner/toll driver's account must be sufficient to make 1 transaction (corresponding to the amount of payment for the distance travelled), with the minimum amount ranging from 98,000 VND to 373,000 VND/way/vehicle type when travelling the entire route city expressway: Ho Chi Minh - Long Thanh - Dau Giay.

According to the plan, Tasco and VETC continue to install ETC 2/4 remaining routes, Da Nang - Quang Ngai and Noi Bai - Lao Cai, which are scheduled to become operational on July 28, 2022. The strategic position of Ho Chi Minh - Long Thanh - Dau Giay will effectively promote the socioeconomic development of nearby communities, particularly the expansion of the "smokeless" sector; enhancing service quality and project investment efficiency.
The ETC toll collection system installed by VEC and TASCO on the HCMC expressway: Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay complies with the general technical requirements of the ETC system using RFID technology as specified in Decision No. 2255/QD-BGTVT dated July 21, 2016, by the Ministry of Transport and the standards other relevant technical standards as prescribed, ensuring the synchronization and interoperability with the ETC toll collection system nationwide.
As a result, VEC and TASCO implemented 25 ETC toll lanes on the HCMC expressway: Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay at 3 toll stations, comprising 11 entrance lanes and 14 departure lanes, to maintain the present traffic capacity.
The Cuong Thuan IDICO Investment and Development Joint Stock Company has invested in the ETC toll collecting system at Toll Station 319, which consists of three inbound and three outbound lanes, and has linked it to VEC toll stations online.
The project was erected in 45 days by Tasco and its subsidiary VETC and went into service on the morning of July 26, 2022. This is the first southern highway to use ETC technology.
Mr Pham Hong Quang, General Director of VEC, said in a statement to the press that this is a significant milestone that reflects the enormous efforts and dedication of VEC and Tasco to execute the policies and directives of the National Assembly.
