DNHN - The Hong Kong Food Expo is held from August 11 to 15, and Vietnamese items such as rice and rice products, seafood, spices, cashews, pepper, and coffee... are highly valued by Hong Kong residents.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council organizes the fair, which is one of the most significant events in the Hong Kong food and beverage sector and draws exhibitors from Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, China, and Southeast Asia nations.
The Hong Kong International Food Fair, with the motto "Experience a New Life," presents delicacies from across the globe and unique goods to the public. Customers will not be able to sample it at the show location this year due to the ongoing outbreak in Hong Kong.
Due to the global pandemic's challenging scenario, Vietnamese enterprises could not participate in the expo this year. As a result, the Consulate General of Vietnam and the Vietnam Trade Office in Hong Kong set up a pavilion to showcase Vietnamese specialities.

According to Mr Pham Binh Dam, Consul General of Vietnam in Hong Kong, Hong Kong is a gateway and a very significant commerce hub, while Vietnam has many powerful rations-food goods. The Consulate General anticipates that more Vietnamese firms and agricultural goods will be featured at this event beginning in 2023.
Ms Vu Thi Thuy, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Hong Kong, believes that Hong Kong is a potential market for Vietnam's food and drinks since the nation does not manufacture but instead imports practically all consumer goods, rations, and food items. The two sides share similar interests and many aspects of consumer culture. Ms Thuy further said Vietnamese firms must ensure food cleanliness and safety as Hong Kong needs Vietnamese goods to readily join this market.
Last year's event drew 545 companies and 370,000 visitors. This year, the number of participating enterprises has climbed to more than 880, and the fair is expected to attract more than 20,000 people every day.
