DNHN - The representative agency of Vietnam Airlines in Thailand conducted a conference on July 26 with the topic "Rediscovering Vietnam" to promote tourism and business in the Thai market.

The number of flights of the airline is anticipated to expand to four per day by October 2022, and six per day by the end of the second quarter of 2023. In addition, Vietnam Airlines is contemplating resuming two tourist routes between Da Nang and Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket starting in 2023.
Head of Vietnam Airlines Representative Office in Thailand Dao Truong Luu stated that despite 2 years of the pandemic, Vietnam Airlines and its partners still strive to effectively exploit wide-body aircraft with a frequency of 6 flights to Vietnam per week, transporting more than 6,000 tons of goods from Thailand to Vietnam each year, 2 per cent higher than the level in 2019; In 2022, the growth momentum is expected to continue with the estimated cargo volume reaching 20,000 tons.
Since Vietnam and Thailand eliminated the majority of travel restrictions on March 15 and July 1, 2022, respectively, air passenger traffic between the two nations has surged significantly, according to Mr Luu. Thailand is also one of the 15 foreign destinations to which Vietnam Airlines has resumed regular flights and is a priority market.
Mr Phan Chi Thanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand, stated at the conference that the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand supports information, facilitates connections between Thai and Vietnamese partners in the tourism, and logistics supply chain, and works to create the most favourable conditions for Thai tourists visiting Vietnam. The Ambassador thought that Vietnam and Thailand's strong cooperation in the aviation sector will effectively contribute to the growth of their relationship.
