DNHN - A representative of the railway industry stated that the shipment was only 3 tonnes, but that it was a trial run to be able to quickly and officially export fresh lychee by intermodal train in 2023.
To meet the needs of businesses, the Dong Dang International Railway Station Customs Branch - Lang Son Customs Department has successfully piloted the export of the first batch of lychee from Bac Giang to China with a faster Customs clearance time than by road.
The railway representative stated that the shipment was only 3 tonnes, but that it was a trial run in preparation for exporting fresh lychee by intermodal train during the 2023 harvest.
To transport fresh lychee by rail for official export, it is necessary to prepare containers, wagons, export-related procedures, and customs and quarantine procedures at two railway border crossings. China and Vietnam.
A refrigerated container transported from Luc Ngan (Bac Giang) to Bang Tuong (China) will cost approximately 30 million VND, while a standard container will cost approximately 20 million VND. After packing enough goods (approximately 20 containers per trip), the expected travel time, including customs clearance, is approximately 12 hours.
According to the Customs Branch at Dong Dang International Railway Station, this freight rate is comparable to that of road transport. However, the travel time is reduced, alleviating the congestion at the border crossing.
After this trial shipment, the unit is informing the business community so that companies can comprehend the situation and shift to importing and exporting goods through the railway border gate, thereby reducing customer customs clearance pressure. Road.
After traveling to China, it is known that the entire test shipment has completed procedures at Pingxiang and has been transported to the Nghia Hung market (Shanghai) for the introduction. The railway side is also coordinating with Bac Giang province to expeditiously transport fresh lychee by rail for official export.
To serve this year's lychee harvest, the unit has prepared specialized goods vehicles capable of transporting between 200 and 300 tonnes of fresh lychee per day, meeting export requirements for agricultural products. Guangxi province, Yunnan (China), and our country's southern provinces.
