The following are the total number of visitors during the holiday season in a few key areas:
Thanh Hoa: approximately 1,195,000 visitors (a 33.1% increase compared to the same period in 2020). Total tourism revenue reached approximately 2,865 billion VND, an increase of 48.3% compared to the same period in 2022.
Can Tho receive approximately 1,800 international visitors in addition to its 982,000 domestic visitors. The estimated total revenue from tourists is 523 billion Vietnamese Dong.
Ho Chi Minh City: serving 950,000 tourists (an increase of 126.2% over the same period in 2022), including approximately 48,000 international visitors, with an average occupancy rate of 70-75% and estimated total revenue from tourism of 3,130 billion VND (an increase of 94.4% over the same period last year).
Nghe An: approximately 780,000 visitors (an increase of 110% compared to 2022), with 330,000 overnight guests. Average occupancy is between 80 and 85 percent. The estimated total revenue from tourists is 1.5 trillion VND.
The average occupancy rate in Hanoi, which serves 719,000 guests (including 69,500 international arrivals and 650,000 domestic arrivals), is approximately 58.4%. Total tourist revenue reached 2,400 billion VND.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau: approximately 499,730 visitors (an increase of 46.1% compared to 2022), with 11,834 international visitors. The total revenue generated by tourists exceeded 633,69 billion Vietnamese Dong. The average occupancy rate is between 75 and 80 percent.
70-75 percent is the average room occupancy rate in Da Nang, which serves approximately 321,623 tourists (a 26.6% increase from 2022) and approximately 34,800 international visitors.
The average room capacity of Quang Binh's tourist accommodation establishments is approximately 85% (an increase of 73.91% over the same period in 2022). The total revenue from tourism reached VND 282.5 billion, an increase of 78.66% compared to the same period last year.
Kien Giang served approximately 264,938 guests (down 9.4% compared to the same period in 2022), resulting in an average occupancy rate of 54%. The total revenue generated by tourists exceeded 132,5 billion VND (down 24.3% from the previous period).
Serving approximately 160,000 tourists (a twofold increase compared to 2022), the average room occupancy in Binh Thuan is between 85 and 90%. The estimated total revenue from tourists is 230 billion Vietnamese Dong.
Quang Nam: served approximately 245,000 arrivals, a 19% increase over the same period in 2022, with international arrivals reaching 119,700 and domestic arrivals reaching 125,300. The occupancy rate is between 85 and 95%.
Thua Thien - Hue: serving 99,000 visitors (an increase of more than 80% compared to the same period in 2022), including approximately 36,300 international visitors, a 26-fold increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The average occupancy rate is 85%. The total revenue from tourists reached 153 billion VND, an increase of 80 percent compared to the same period last year.
The number of holiday visitors to coastal areas has increased, while the number of visitors to Kien Giang has decreased significantly. During the last holiday season, Kien Giang served approximately 264,937 guests (down 9.4% from the same period in 2022), with an average occupancy rate of 54%. The total revenue generated by tourists exceeded 132,5 billion VND (down 24.3% from the previous period).
The General Department of Tourism remarked that this is a positive sign that tourism activities continue to maintain the momentum of recovery; have completely overcome obstacles since the outbreak.
