TNI King Coffee sued for over VND 5 Billion in unpaid debts

DNHN - On October 21, 2025, the People’s Court of District 10 in Ho Chi Minh City officially accepted a civil lawsuit concerning a commercial contract dispute between TKT Vietnam Plastic Packaging Joint Stock Company and TNI King Coffee Co., Ltd.
This legal move follows a report by Tap chi Doanh nghiep & Hoi Nhap (Business & Integration Magazine) revealing that TNI King Coffee, formerly known as TNI One Member Co., Ltd. had delayed payment of more than VND 5 billion owed to TKT Vietnam Plastic Packaging JSC under a signed sales contract.
According to case documents, TKT Vietnam Plastic Packaging JSC, located in Uyen Hung Ward, Tan Uyen City, Binh Duong Province (now Tan Uyen Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), signed Contract No. 07/2020/HĐMB/TNBG-TKT with TNI One Member Co., Ltd. (now TNI King Coffee Co., Ltd., headquartered at 208 Nguyen Duy Street, Ward 9, now Hung Phu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
The company’s General Director and legal representative, Ms. Le Hoang Diep Thao, signed the agreement under which TKT Vietnam was to supply complex plastic packaging materials for TNI King Coffee’s production and business operations. Although the contract expired on December 31, 2021, payment obligations were not fulfilled. Despite multiple reconciliations and formal requests for settlement since 2022, TNI King Coffee has made only partial and delayed payments, causing significant financial strain for the supplier.
As a result, TKT Vietnam Plastic Packaging JSC filed a lawsuit against TNI King Coffee Co., Ltd. at the People’s Court of District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, demanding full payment of the principal debt amounting to VND 5,645,161,115, a contractual penalty of VND 451,612,889, and statutory late-payment interest as prescribed by Vietnamese law.
In addition, the plaintiff petitioned the Court to hold TNI King Coffee Co., Ltd. and the Bac Giang Branch of Trung Nguyen Instant Coffee JSC jointly liable for payment, should TNI King Coffee continue to evade or delay its settlement obligations.
On October 21, 2025, the People’s Court of District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, issued Notice No. 23/TB-TA, officially accepting the case under the category “Dispute over Sale and Purchase of Goods” between the two companies.
The court’s acceptance of the case marks a significant legal development after a prolonged period during which the two parties failed to reach any payment resolution.
