DNHN - The Specter clothing plant will use some renewable energy and will employ around 2,500 people in An Giang. After two years of planning and construction, the Danish business Specter, which specializes in outdoor sportswear, has finally opened its first facility in An Giang province.
With a total investment of up to 17 million USD, this is Specter's third facility in Vietnam and the first Danish foreign direct investment project in An Giang. The plant is intended to generate 2,500 local employment. Specter has previously prospered in Vietnam, where it established its first manufacturing plant in 2010 and now employs 2,500 people in its factories in Nam Dinh and Thai Binh.
Mr Nicolai Prytz, Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam, and Mr Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, as well as Mr Jesper Klausen, co-owner of the firm and director, were present at the opening event. Production and product development, with the participation of numerous local leaders from agencies and enterprises.
This plant was developed to meet high social responsibility (CSR) requirements and was given the LEED gold rating, which is the top design certification for energy and the environment. The factory may minimize CO2 emissions by about 1,600 tons per year by utilizing solar energy and contemporary architecture.
"Today, I am extremely glad to attend the opening ceremony of the Specter plant in An Giang," stated Mr Nicolai Prytz, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, at the occasion. This demonstrates the continued significant rising trend of Danish FDI inflows into Vietnam.
Simultaneously, the initiative illustrates the significance of the Vietnamese government's commitment to decreasing carbon emissions in attracting quality investment to Vietnam. All green energy investment initiatives for sustainable production must be operational."
"Spectre is tremendously proud of the latest investment project in An Giang, Vietnam," said Mr Jesper Klausen, Specter co-owner. We are glad to contribute to the local community by constructing a factory that satisfies new standards for the working environment on the inside while also appreciating and caring for the surrounding environment. We recognize that our firm plays a critical role in ensuring a special collaboration with stakeholders: respected customers and business partners, employees, the local community, the local government, and, most importantly, the surrounding environment that we have a responsibility to safeguard.
Only by bringing all stakeholders in the value chain together can we achieve satisfactory results for businesses, people, and the environment."
Denmark is now one of the major European investors in Vietnam. With the Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark's impending visit to Vietnam with a team of 36 enterprises in early November, it is predicted that numerous Danish investment transactions, particularly in the energy industry, will be concluded in the next years.
Vietnam is now a major partner of the Danish government in sectors such as green growth, energy, water, health, education, food safety, culture, and commerce.
The Specter Company is a family-owned business, which is an integral aspect of the company's identity. SPECTER has 75 years of expertise in textile production and has been a functional apparel manufacturing specialist for over 25 years. Specter recognized a substantial growth in market demand till 2010 and chose to expand manufacturing in Vietnam.
