THACO plans to reach 20 supermarkets by 2026

DNHN - Thaco plans to reach 20 supermarkets in the next 5 years, by 2026, the revenue target is 1 billion USD. Ho Chi Minh City was chosen as Emart's first destination in Vietnam to conquer the goal of making Emart the leading hypermarket in Vietnam.

Speaking at the Customer Conference, Mr. Chun Byung Ki, General Director of Thisco Retail, said that Emart Vietnam is implementing a plan to open two more hypermarkets this year, including Emart Sala Thu Thiem and Emart Phan Huy Ich.

Emart Sala Thu Thiem has an area of more than 6,000 m2, is a hypermarket located in Thiso Mall (Thu Duc City). Emart Phan Huy Ich in Go Vap district is also located in the center of Thiso Retail hypermarket, which is being built with the largest supermarket and parking area in Ho Chi Minh City.

The agreement covers the entire business at Emart Go Vap and developing projects in Vietnam. After that, Thiso Retail Company under Thiso was established to take over the business of Emart Vietnam.

Emart Korea is a member of Shinsegae Group, currently owns a system of Emart hypermarkets, Emart Everyday mid-sized supermarkets, Emart24 convenience stores with more than 5,100 points of sale in Korea and a system of stores in the US. Mongolia, Philippines.

With this strategy, Emart Vietnam will be an important piece, completing the multi-industry model of “one stop, many utilities” that THACO Group is pursuing.
