The USD 215 million syndicated loan, which includes three components with tenors of 3 and 5 years, will not only strengthen HDBank's financial capacity but also demonstrate the bank’s commitment to sustainable development goals and adherence to international Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.

This funding will be allocated by HDBank to sectors that have a positive impact on the community and the economy, including financing green projects, promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), women-owned businesses, and low-income groups through social housing credit programs.

This marks one of the first co-financing initiatives jointly implemented by FinDev Canada, JICA, and SMBC. It is also among the first loans that FinDev Canada has provided to the private sector in Vietnam. Notably, this is one of the largest syndicated loans ever extended by international development financial institutions to a joint stock commercial bank in Vietnam for the realization of sustainable development goals.

The participation of leading partners such as JICA, SMBC, and FinDev Canada is a strong testament to the international financial community’s confidence in HDBank’s capacity, strategic direction, and steadfast commitment to sustainable development.
