DNHN - Techcombank was named "Vietnam's Best Bank" and "Vietnam's Most Innovative Technology Bank" by Asia's most prestigious magazine FinanceAsia at the 27th FinanceAsia Country Awards ceremony.
The FinanceAsia Country Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the financial industry. The FinanceAsia jury, comprised of leading financial experts from the Asia-Pacific region, awarded Techcombank with two trophies for implementing digital transformation to provide the best financial solutions to its customers. Techcombank is highly regarded for its financial strength, which is reflected in the sustainable growth of pre-tax profit (PBT), total income operations (TOI), and leadership positions in numerous key areas, such as number one in terms of payment volume and card transaction value, number one in terms of return on assets (ROA), and number one in terms of capital adequacy ratio (CAR) according to Basel2, and among the industry leaders.
FinanceAsia's well-deserved recognition reaffirms Techcombank's success in implementing its 2021-2025 strategy based on the three pillars of digitization, data, and talent. The two awards "Vietnam's Best Bank 2023" and "Vietnam's Most Innovative Technological Application Bank 2023" are the milestones on Techcombank's "30 years of excellence together" journey. Techcombank, which was founded in 1993 with a charter capital of only VND20 billion, has grown to become the third largest bank in Vietnam by charter capital, with over 11.2 million individual and corporate customers.
Alongside the digital transformation journey with the vision of "Transforming the financial industry, Elevating life's values" are strategic "handshakes" with the world's leading partners to further improve the customer experience and the bank's position in the region. Using Salesforce and Adobe, for instance, the partnership has allowed Techcombank to offer hyper-personalized banking experiences in real-time to its customers. Techcombank has promoted the migration of the majority of its applications from the bank's data centres to Amazon Web Services (AWS) to leverage the scalability of cloud computing and build an integrated data platform to optimise data analytics in the cloud. Additionally, the bank collaborates with MISA (Vietnam's leading accounting software provider) to provide corporate clients with the most effective financial accounting and operational management solutions.
In addition to the pillars of 'Digitalization' and 'Data,' Techcombank continuously invests in 'Talent' through training programmes designed to enhance staff capacity and develop human resources. In 2022, on average, each Techcombank employee will receive 70 hours of training via various online and in-person platforms. Techcombank is also the first Vietnamese bank to organise the Overseas Talent Roadshow campaign to recruit Vietnamese-born talents residing in Singapore, London, San Francisco, and Sydney to return to the country and assist the bank in its transformation.
In 2023, Techcombank was honoured for operational excellence and innovation with the following accolades: Best Bank in Vietnam 2023 – FinanceAsia was ranked among the top 163 global most valuable banks for 2023, with a $1.4 billion brand valuation, according to The Brand Finance.
