DNHN - In the coming time, it is necessary to clearly define the priority of the development of the high-tech industry and logistics as an important condition and an inevitable trend to ensure fast and sustainable development.
In Vietnam, logistics has been developed since the 1990s. However, in just a short time, logistics has developed strongly, affirming a particularly important role in the economy.
Up to now, the system of policies and laws on logistics has been increasingly improved; logistics infrastructure in the past years has seen remarkable changes, many large and modern works have been invested and put into operation, use, and brought into full play their efficiency; Vietnam's logistics services have a relatively high growth rate of 12% to 14%, the proportion of enterprises outsourcing logistics services is about 60-70%, contributing about 4-5% of GDP.

Besides the results achieved in the past time, the logistics industry in Vietnam still has shortcomings and limitations. Especially, the cost of logistics services in our country is still quite high, increasing the cost, reducing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in particular, and the competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy in general.
The main reason is that the planning work between sectors and fields is still not closely connected; transport infrastructure, trade and information technology are still limited, the connection with other countries in the region is still slow; the combination of e-commerce and logistics is not effective.
Besides, the competitiveness of logistics service enterprises in Vietnam is still not high compared to other countries in the region and the world. Vietnam does not have large enterprises, providing synchronous logistics services; human resources for logistics activities have not yet met the requirements.
Facing the above situation, in recent years, the authorities have also found many solutions to remove difficulties and facilitate logistics activities. A pre-feasibility study on congestion and logistics facilitation at Cat Lai port was also conducted by the USAID-funded Trade Facilitation Project.
In the coming time, it is necessary to clearly define the priority of the development of high-tech industry and logistics as an important condition and an inevitable trend to ensure fast and sustainable development; promoting regional linkages in the development of logistics systems, especially links in transport infrastructure, goods transport systems to logistics centres and linking production - import-export enterprises with logistics enterprises.
