DNHN - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, director of external affairs for Central Retail Group (GO Supermarket! ), stated that the majority of OCOP manufacturers are small businesses that lack the resources to promote the brand
Mr. Nguyen Hong Quyet, the director of Kim Long Hi-tech Agricultural Cooperative (Binh Duong), stated that he has been selling to supermarkets for the past eight years but has encountered numerous obstacles. There is a supermarket system that has offered six times but received no response.
Mr. Quyet claims that farmer households and agricultural production cooperatives have traveled far and wide without success. He hoped that leaders of industry and trade departments, trade promotion centers, and supermarket managers would create a more level playing field for capable farmers and cooperatives.
"I used to say that this is a very frustrating problem for agricultural product producers. Quality agricultural products, competitive prices, and complete documentation are not available in supermarkets "- Mr. Quyet said.
A business in Dong Nai believes that consumers do not recognize OCOP's standard certification as evidence of the high quality of Vietnamese goods. Even though OCOP products must go through numerous rounds, they are typical local goods; therefore, it is necessary to create more trading platforms.
At the Conference, the representative of the purchasing department of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and fresh food (Fresh) of Central Retail Vietnam directly discussed the processes of entering supermarkets with potential suppliers, providing comments on all types of documents and offering documents; Suggestions to improve product packaging and design to be more suitable for modern retail channels; and providing addresses and contact information... The commune expeditiously put goods into distribution and business at Central Retail's GO!, Big C supermarket system.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, External Affairs Director of Central Retail Group (GO Supermarket! ), explained the difficulty of bringing products into the supermarket system by stating that local OCOP goods are difficult to sell at local supermarkets. since there is numerous outside. Supermarkets always support OCOP products but require local assistance in gathering OCOP products and establishing supplier entry standards.
Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, stated that he has accomplished much in the past, but problems remain. It is the responsibility of the state, distributors, and manufacturers to build trade and connections to bring goods to consumers. Distributors have a particularly important role, as they are the only ones who understand consumer needs and can guide manufacturers.
Step by step, the state must invest in training, coaching, and education for ordinary farmer households. All provinces construct "space," or display shelves for local products, contributing to the city's access to these goods.
