Total market sales at the end of March 2023 were 22% lower than the same period in 2022, with passenger cars down 26%, commercial vehicles down 5%, and special purpose vehicles down 48% compared to the same period in 2022. Annually, sales of domestically assembled vehicles decreased by 34%, while sales of imported vehicles decreased by 4%.
In addition, Toyota Motor Vietnam announced that total sales for the month of March 2023 reached 5,848 vehicles (including Lexus vehicles), leading the market for passenger cars. National sales of Toyota models reached 5,656 units, comprised of 2,886 locally assembled automobiles and 2,770 CBU imported automobiles.
Thanh Cong Group also announced the sales results for the month of March 2023, with total sales of 5,773 Hyundai vehicles, a 5.5% increase compared to February 2023.
March sales of Hyundai commercial vehicles were 1,016 units, a 42.1% increase compared to February 2023. Hyundai-branded vehicles sold 14,736 units in the first quarter of 2023, a decrease of 21.1% compared to the first quarter of 2022.
When market demand increases, along with the tourist peak season and increased customer travel demand, the second quarter of 2023 is anticipated to experience greater growth than the first quarter, despite fluctuations. unpredictable market.
