In 2022, there will be no increase in retail electricity costs

DNHN - EVN will closely adhere to the Government's orders in terms of balancing sources and decreasing expenses in order to avoid an increase in the retail price of electricity in 2022, in order to maintain the economy's wonderful balances.

Under pressure from both supply constraints and the impact of rising input costs for power generation, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) remains dedicated to providing an adequate supply of electricity for the economy and people's lives.

Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh, Deputy General Director of EVN said: “Electricity of Vietnam has committed to the Prime Minister that in 2022 there will not be an increase in electricity prices, how will we balance our electricity sources? the most reasonable way for us to ensure socio-economic development, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic to promote economic development, this is also the direction of the Prime Minister”.

The latest electricity retail price increase was approved by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to adjust the average retail electricity price from March 20, 2019, with an increase of 8.36% compared to the previous one. Specifically, the adjusted average retail price of electricity applied from 2019 to now is VND 1,864.44/kWh (excluding VAT).
