DNHN - On August 11, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province in collaboration with the People's Committee of Kim Boi district and FUSA organic agriculture joint stock company held a ceremony to export the first 1 ton of Son Thuy longan products to the European market (EU).

Chairman of Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khanh emphasized that this is the initial success from the efforts of the people, along with the support of the authorities and professional agencies at all levels.
Over the years, Son Thuy longan products have overcome difficulties in farming techniques as well as strict technical requirements to succeed in exporting to conquer the EU market. Director of the Plant Protection Sub-Department, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province Nguyen Hong Yen said that the sample of Son Thuy longan had analyzed results at a laboratory appointed according to EU standards. All three samples meet the technical requirements of 821 food safety inspection criteria as required by the EU.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province reported that Son Thuy longan is the first product of Hoa Binh province to be granted a planting area code since 2019. The planting area code is considered a passport to the product. This is officially exported to the international market. Especially the most difficult market in the EU.
Since 2016, Son Thuy's products have been granted collective trademark protection by the National Office of Intellectual Property. Followed by a series of certificates granted on Food Safety (2016); VietGAP (2019); OCOP (2020) has helped the Son Thuy brand to reach out to domestic and foreign markets.
In the coming time, Hoa Binh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development together with FUSA Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company set a target that the longan crop in 2022 will export about 50 tons.
