Hanoi leads the country in attracting foreign investment in the first four months of 2023

DNHN - In the first four months of 2023, Hanoi's foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction reached about 1.71 billion USD (up 260% over the same period in 2022), ranking first in the country.
There are currently over 7,000 valid projects with a total investment capital of 61.7 billion USD in Hanoi. In terms of capital for implementation, implemented projects have reached USD 41,1 billion (representing 66.6%), a rate that is relatively high compared to the national average.
Shortly, the city will expedite and improve the quality of planning work, as well as review the general construction planning of the capital; concentrate on building a public list to attract investment and create clean ground to promote the formation of industrial zones and clusters.

Recently, a representative of the City People's Committee assessed the overall picture of attracting FDI in Hanoi. FDI flows tend to approach in the form of capital contribution, share purchase, purchase of enterprise capital contribution, and existing projects, according to Hanoi.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, stated, "This confirms the attractive potential of Hanoi in particular and the country in general; however, it also indicates certain obstacles to direct capital flows into projects, including land use projects." Hanoi has affirmed.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen stated that Hanoi is developing a plan to develop industrial zones and clusters to serve the planning of the capital, as well as preparing well for receiving and managing Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park; focusing on promoting transport infrastructure, including Ring Road 4, electricity, telecommunications, and information infrastructure to attract foreign investors, particularly in the fields of urban development, manufacturing production, sci-tech, and urban planning.
