Hanoi city attracts USD 158.7 million in FDI in the first quarter of 2023

DNHN - According to the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, development investment capital in Hanoi increased 8.6% over the same period last year, reaching 158.7 million USD in foreign investment attraction.
Specifically, urban development investment capital. The state capital was VND 27.4 trillion, accounting for 33.5% of total investment capital, and up 2.9%; non-state capital was 48 trillion dongs, accounting for 58.6% and increasing by 11.2%; and foreign direct investment capital was 6.4 trillion dongs, accounting for 7.5% and increasing by 15.0%.
The estimated amount of investment capital realized from the State budget managed by localities in March was VND 3,066 billion, up 19.3% from the previous month and up 2.2% from the same period in 2022. At the municipal level, State budget funds are allocated. State budget capital at the district level was VND 1,682 billion, up 31.4% and down 15.3%; State budget capital at the commune level was VND 132 billion, up 30.0% and down 12%.
It is anticipated that investment capital from the State budget managed by localities will reach 8.1 trillion dongs in the first quarter of 2023, representing 15.7% of the annual plan, a decrease of 4.5% compared to the same period last year.
According to the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, Hanoi had 34 newly licensed FDI projects with a total registered capital of USD 10,400,000 in March. In addition, 22 projects have been modified to increase investment capital by a total of 57.7 million USD; 28 foreign investors have contributed capital and purchased shares totaling 53.4 million USD.
Hanoi is estimated to have attracted 158.7 million USD of FDI in the first quarter of 2023, of which 73 new projects were registered with a capital of 21.3 million USD; 33 additional projects to increase investment capital with 74.1 million USD; and foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares 70 times, totaling 63.3 million USD.
