DNHN - On January 13, the Business Association (BA) of Gia Lam District, Hanoi City, held a conference to summarise 2023 activities and deploy tasks for 2024, chaired by Mr Mai Duc Chung - Chairman of Gia Lam District BA.
Gia Lam District Business Association was established under Decision No. 3754 dated October 11, 2022, by the Hanoi City People’s Committee. Since its inception, the Gia Lam Business Association has become a bridge connecting, sharing experiences, and cooperating for the development of businesses in Hanoi City. Through many challenging but also proud trials, the Gia Lam Business Association has been, is, and will continue to join hands in building a strong and distinctive business community, contributing to the prosperous development of the country.
The summary report of the Gia Lam District BA stated that it was assigned by Hanoi City as the focal point for the business community of Gia Lam District. Gia Lam District BA currently has 90 members operating in 3 areas: Area 1 - Bac Duong (including Ninh Hiep, Yen Vien, Yen Thuong, Hapro communes, and neighbouring areas); Area 2 includes Bat Trang, Kieu Ky communes, and neighbouring areas; Area 3 includes Phu Thi, Co Bi communes, and neighbouring areas. The Executive Committee of Gia Lam District BA consists of 19 members who are always united, consensual, enthusiastic, and responsible for developing the Association.
It can be affirmed that Gia Lam District BA has continuously grown, making positive contributions to implementing the district’s socio-economic development strategy; creating jobs for workers and addressing social security issues; attracting more than 90 members, most of whom are operating effectively.
Gia Lam District BA has become a “common home” for the business community in the district and neighbouring areas; playing a good role as a bridge between businesses and state management agencies and socio-political organisations; representing the business community to regularly exchange, support, grasp aspirations and wishes; summarising difficulties and obstacles in investment, production, and business activities for businesses to propose competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
Gia Lam District BA has carried out activities to support, connect, and promote trade; connecting and supporting businesses in building and developing production value chains, and enhancing the prestige and brand of products.
The highlight of the activities is the program “Visiting, Connecting, and Exchanging Member Businesses” in 3 areas. This activity has created conditions for members to exchange experiences in production and business, connect trade, and expand exchanges and cooperation between businesses with the same industry and those in need of cooperation.
The position and role of the Association in the business community, among members, in the district leadership, and state agencies continue to be consolidated and significantly improved, demonstrated through the development of the Association’s organisational scale and the admission of new members, the support of leaders of departments, sectors, and communes; the trust, support, and facilitation of the leaders of the Gia Lam District People’s Committee and the tasks assigned to the Association, as well as the responsible support of the Hanoi City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.
However, Gia Lam District BA has certain difficulties and limitations due to that the number of businesses participating in the Association is still too small compared to the number of businesses in the district. Some members of the Executive Committee have not yet fully fulfilled their responsibilities in advising and proposing ideas for the Association’s activities as well as in the assigned tasks. Member businesses have not been proactive in regularly reflecting on difficulties, obstacles, recommendations, and suggestions on issues related to businesses that need to be resolved, innovated, and facilitated for business and socio-economic development. The activities of the Business Association are still limited, and not commensurate with the expectations of local authorities and businesses.
In 2024, the Association plans to continue organising support for social security activities, for the poor; training to support member businesses in tax, construction, and environmental resources; organising exchanges and dialogues among entrepreneurs; organising trade promotion activities, etc. The Association will play a good role as a representative and protect the legitimate rights and interests of members, continue to focus on developing new members; create favourable conditions, support, and remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses, cooperatives, production, business, and service establishments, developing in line with the planning and economic conditions of the district; implementing digital transformation, applying new science, technology, and techniques to management, administration, production, business, and service operations, participating in protecting the ecological environment; linking socio-economic development with national defense - security and strictly complying with the policies and laws of the State, adapting to the green economy, circular economy, digital economy, digital society, and e-government, etc.
