Hai Phong City started construction of a new conference - performance centre with an investment

Mr Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, stated at the ceremony that the city centre of Hai Phong has been formed and developed for over a century. In 2016, the Prime Minister approved the investment policy for a technical infrastructure construction project on 317 hectares in the North Song Cam new urban area, with a total investment of nearly 10 trillion VND.

According to Mr Tung, the new conference-performance centre is an architecturally significant work that, along with the new political-administrative centre, will contribute to the simultaneous completion of the urban area's architectural landscape. Above the Cam River. Today's opening of the City Performance - Convention Centre is adjacent to the rear of the Political and Administrative Centre. The building's construction area of 39,000m2 on a land area of 120,000m2 (12ha) with a scale of 3 floors and 1 basement was inspired by the image of a drop of water falling on the water's surface, causing waves to radiate outward.

In addition to a large hall with a capacity of 1,500 seats, a multi-purpose hall with nearly 500 seats, a round table meeting room with 100 seats, and more than ten small meeting rooms, the total construction floor area exceeds 49,500m2. 20 to 100 seats per room. The large hall can not only host conferences but also national and international performances on a grand scale.

In July 2021, the People's Council of Hai Phong City approved the investment project to construct a city concert performance centre and a synchronous technical infrastructure system in the North Song Cam urban area.

On the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Phong (May 13), a crucial project was initiated. It is anticipated that the project will be completed and operational by the fourth quarter of 2025.

To complete this important project in time for the 17th City Party Congress, the Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee proposed the following: Contractors should focus heavily on human and material resources, organise construction in three shifts during the day, and continue construction on public holidays and New Year's Day so that the project can be inaugurated in the middle of 2025. Particular consideration must be given to the work's quality, technical and artistic abilities and absolute safety. Occupational safety; Request the Departments, departments, and branches of the city and district of Thuy Nguyen to create the best conditions for the Investor and construction contractors, ensuring security and order throughout the project. Also present at the ceremony was the representative of the construction contractor, Colonel Tran Dang Tu, Chairman of 319 Corporation, Ministry of National Defence, who stated, "Continuing the success when selected as the main contractor to execute the construction and installation package." Today, we continue to be selected by the investor to execute package number 29 of this project (including the part underground, basement, body, roof, and complete with indoor water supply and drainage system) with a total cost of 1,311 billion VND. We are committed to providing personnel, engineers, and skilled labourers; mobilising modern machinery, equipment, and resources; and organising the construction by the approved plan and technical design."

The North Cam River urban area, the Political-Administrative Centre, and the Convention-Performance Centre will constitute the most modern, dynamic, and prosperous urban complex. In the modern era, the northern region represents the breakthrough development and expansion of the port city's size. - Construction of the Convention Centre - City performance of 1,500 seats with three floors and one basement, the maximum height from the ground level to the top of the roof is 36.5 metres (the core 0.00 is the ground floor of the first floor, 1.5 metres higher than the ground level of the internal road); total floor area is approximately 49,612 square metres.

- Construction of auxiliary works and technical infrastructure system outside the house: two basement entrances, four emergency ladders, the foundation for the electric cabinet; traffic system, internal road yard, parking lot; garden, landscape, trees, water surface; power supply outside the house; water supply and drainage outside the house; lighting, communication systems...

- Construct a 22kV medium voltage power system and RMU distribution station in the urban area north of the Cam River.

Construction site and land use region:

- Construction site located in the Tan Duong commune of the Thuy Nguyen district.

- Land area: approximately 12,39 ha.
