DNHN - Even though this year's National Day holiday is four days long, the number of tourists in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai has not been as high as anticipated.
Even though Hoi An City is the provincial and regional tourist hub, according to the Centre for Culture, Sports, and Information, the average daily number of visitors increased from September 1 to September 3 on average. This unit sells nearly 4,000 fewer tickets to visit the old town than usual or about 1,000 fewer tickets.

The director of the Hoi Centre for Culture, Sports, and Information is Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Cam. This year, during the National Day holiday, a greater number of people are purchasing tickets to visit the old town than in previous years, but European tourists have not yet returned. In comparison to normal days, the number of tickets sold decreased by more than 20% due to the large number of tourists, who were primarily Korean and Taiwanese.
Not only Hoi An ancient town, but also other attractions in Hoi An such as Cu Lao Cham, Cam Thanh Nipa palm forest, and Thanh Ha pottery village... saw fewer visitors than expected after three days of holiday. Particularly, Cu Lao Cham received approximately 4,500 visitors (average 1,500 visitors per day), an increase of more than 20% compared to normal days but a significant decrease compared to the April 30 holiday (average 2,700 visitors per day) as a result of the recent stormy weather.
According to Mr. Phan Ho, Director of the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board, there was no sudden increase in the number of visitors after three days of the holiday. This is because, for a long time, the majority of visitors to the temple complex came from the international market, with few Vietnamese tourists. Customers purchase tickets to enter.

This year's National Day celebration is the first time that the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board has included the dance performance "Ciet Team" to serve guests; this is one of the Cham people's traditional dances. Tourism efficiency.
In conjunction with this event, the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board is offering a 10% discount on all souvenir items and a 15% discount on purchases over 2 million VND. along with attractive gifts to stimulate tourists to spend on shopping.
However, from September 1 to September 3, approximately 4,200 tourists purchased tickets to visit the My Son temple complex, a 15% increase compared to weekdays.
Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son island district (Quang Ngai), stated that due to the influence of Typhoon Saola (typhoon number 3), the number of tourists visiting the island during the holiday period of 2-9 was less than that of the storm during the same period in previous years.

According to preliminary statistics, between 600 and 800 people visit Ly Son island daily during the first two days of the holiday. During the four-day National Day holiday that begins on September 2 of this year, it is anticipated that only about 3,000 people will visit Ly Son island, a decrease of 60% compared to 2022.
There are currently 140 hotels, motels, and homestays on the entire island of Ly Son, but the majority of them have few holiday bookings. Some owners of hotels, motels, and homestays on Ly Son Island reported that many groups of tourists had previously reserved rooms to visit the island, but after hearing about the storm, they canceled their reservations...
