Dong Thap: Discussions on potential avenues of collaboration with Something Group (Japan)

DNHN - Following the delegation of Dong Thap province's visit and working session at Something Group (Japan) in June, on the afternoon of July 1, Mr Sato KouiChiro - Foreign business director, cum member of the Council Something Group's management and Group members went to meet the leaders of Dong Thap province to learn and exchange cooperation opportunities shortly.
Receiving and working with the Group were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee/Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Phan Van Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Tan Buu, and leaders of several departments, branches and localities.

Leaders of Dong Thap province were presented with some of Something Group's strengths, including the Program to Receive Vietnamese Interns, IoT applications in agriculture, and soil cement pile technology in education.
Regarding the trainee program, Something Group now employs 50 Vietnamese workers in Japan, of whom 43% are from Dong Thap province, and wants to raise this number in the next years.
With the Group's strengths, Dong Thap province wishes to have a more in-depth discussion to develop a specific cooperation plan, particularly in the field of construction - said Phan Van Thang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; he is also committed to working closely with Something Group to bring qualified Dong Thap trainees to Japan.
Regarding the application of IoT and unmanned aerial vehicles to the agriculture sector, Mr Phan Van Thang offered pilot collaboration at Sa Dec Ornamental Flower Village; The Department of Planning and Investment would supervise the Group's construction of a company in Dong Thap.
Doan Tan Buu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that the sectors addressed by the Group are very favourable for growth direction and that Dong Thap province would soon prepare an agreement of collaboration between Dong Thap and Something Group.

The next day, Something Group headed straight to Tam Nong district to speak with trainees who were living there as part of the trainee program in Japan.
