Can Tho Opening VietShrimp 2023 with the theme Enhancing the value chain

DNHN - The fair has participation of more than 220 booths of 150 domestic and international enterprises and organizations operating in all fields related to the shrimp and seafood industry.

The Expo was organized by the Vietnam Fisheries Association, Vietnam Fisheries Magazine, the Directorate of Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and other affiliated organizations between April 12-14, 2023. Vietnam Shrimp Industry Technology in 2023 (VietShrimp 2023) will be held at the Trade and Investment Promotion Center and the Can Tho Expo. The theme of VietShrimp 2023 is "Improving the value chain."
Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang - Chairman of the Vietnam Fisheries Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of VietShrimp 2023 - reported at the opening of the fair that, for more than a decade, the Vietnamese shrimp industry community has been persistently pursuing this objective. Turning Vietnam's shrimp industry into a key export commodity... the shrimp industry contributes between 45 and 50 percent of the total value of seafood exports annually.

Vietnam is now the world's leading supplier of shrimp, accounting for 13 to 14% of the total value of shrimp exported worldwide. Numerous innovations and developments have occurred in the shrimp industry in our country, and many households and businesses have applied new technologies to shrimp farming to increase the efficiency of production processes and adapt to climate change...

Duong Tan Hien, standing vice chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, emphasized that this is a very significant and practical event... He believes this event will contribute to promoting industry cooperation and growth. shrimp and seafood in general towards sustainability and environmental protection, enhancing the value of Vietnamese shrimp further.

Before the event's opening, many seafood companies continued registering for booths. This year, more than 220 booths are occupied by 150 domestic and international businesses and organizations operating in all prawn and seafood industry sectors. In addition to displaying and introducing numerous products, equipment, breeding animals, animal feed, and new models and technological solutions for prawn farming and processing, VietShrimp 2023 also features consulting activities. and seminars, with the participation of many managers, scientists, experts, and businesses sharing useful information. The fair also features a processing area and culinary demonstrations of prawns, pangasius, and other well-known Vietnamese seafood products.


With the theme "Enhancing the value chain," VietShrimp 2023 aims to bring together the "four houses," including managers, scientists, businesspeople, and farmers, to contribute to the development of the shrimp industry by the Government's guidelines and orientations. Introducing new technology products, advanced models, and connecting production and consumption to increase shrimp production, value, and benefits for the Vietnamese shrimp industry community. Enhancing the promotion of the image of Vietnamese shrimp on the international market... elevating Vietnamese shrimp and seafood products to the next level and achieving the global dream.
VietShrimp has left a positive impression on management agencies, experts, experts, scientists, the business community, and farmers after being held four times in Can Tho. shrimp and become a significant event for the Vietnamese shrimp industry, the Asia-Pacific region, and nations that favor Vietnamese shrimp.
