DNHN - Nearly 200 Vietnamese entrepreneurs gathered in the United States as part of an investment promotion program combined with cultural and sports exchange, organized by HDBank in Miami in April 2025.
This trip's distinction lies not only in its strategic commercial focus but also in its innovative approach: connection through sport – a modern, highly symbolic, and effective form of cultural diplomacy.
For the first time, a large-scale delegation of entrepreneurs representing pivotal sectors such as finance, aviation, technology, energy, and import-export has participated in an investment promotion program intertwined with cultural and sporting activities in the USA, a global powerhouse in sports entertainment and innovation.
At Trump National Doral Miami, the delegation experienced the LIV Golf Miami 2025 tournament from the exclusive VIP Chalet 18 – a prime location at the heart of the legendary Blue Monster course, where historic swings and the fiercest challenges of professional golf unfold. This was more than just attending a prestigious tournament; it was an authentic cultural immersion where the spirit of athleticism and business strategy converged. Golfer Marc Leishman's compelling victory with a -6 score and the Ripper GC team's impressive performance vividly illustrated the pinnacle of competitive spirit, delivering powerful inspiration to the Vietnamese entrepreneurs as they increasingly define their roles on the global stage.
Immediately following the tournament, the Vietnamese entrepreneurs transitioned from spectators to protagonists, directly competing on the Blue Monster's fairways in the Mastercard – Vikki Invitational 2025. Stepping onto the same grounds where the world's top golfers had recently battled was a symbolic experience, forging connections that extended beyond sports to encompass cultural values, shared ambition, and a readiness to expand investment and collaboration opportunities with global partners.
Ms. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh (Dandelly), CEO of 54 Vietnam – the program's architect, observed, “Each swing on the course is not merely a display of technique, but also an expression of leadership acumen, strategic thinking, and non-verbal communication among business leaders. Cultural exchange through sports is an inspiring and enduringly effective connection format.”
This tournament also served as an open forum where Vietnamese entrepreneurs engaged directly with international counterparts, learned about diverse business models, and drew inspiration for entrepreneurship through the medium of sport. Golf is evolving beyond its traditional image as an elite sport, emerging as a multifaceted communication tool – a "common language" in the era of globalization.
The reality is that modern cultural exchange is transcending traditional boundaries, making significant inroads into sporting activities – arenas where spirit, identity, and opportunities for collaboration converge. In the United States, golf tourism expenditure exceeds $31 billion annually, while the global market is projected to reach $41.87 billion by 2030. These figures not only underscore the scale but also reflect a new connectivity trend – where sport acts as a catalyst for cultural exchange and sustainable growth.
The journey at Trump is more than just an event – it's a strategic declaration. Vietnamese entrepreneurs have demonstrated proactivity, confidence, and leadership as they enter the global arena using the very language of our time – sports. Here, cultural exchange is not merely performative but a profound and lasting integration, paving the way for greater strides in commerce, diplomacy, and national development.
