Binh Duong province's collective economy sector achieves nearly VND1,170 billion in total revenue in 2023

DNHN - In 2023, Binh Duong province developed 56 new cooperatives and 19 agricultural cooperatives. Currently, the province has 257 cooperatives, an increase of 27.86%, with 2,216 members and an operating capital of VND48.946 billion.
On December 26, the provincial Cooperative Union held a mid-term review conference to implement the Resolution of the 6th Provincial Cooperative Union Congress for the 2020-2025 term. The conference focused on summarising the situation of the collective economy and cooperatives in 2023 and setting out orientations and tasks for 2024.
In 2023, the province developed 56 new cooperatives and 19 agricultural cooperatives. Currently, the province has 257 cooperatives, an increase of 27.86%, with 2,216 members and an operating capital of VND48.946 billion. In addition, there are 242 agricultural cooperatives, an increase of 5.67%, with 47,647 members and a charter capital of VND930 billion.

The province's collective economy sector is expected to achieve a revenue of VND1,166.668 billion, an increase of 10.48% compared to 2022. The average income of labourers has also increased, reaching VND6.5 - 7 million/labourer/month for cooperatives and VND15 million/labourer/month for people's credit funds.
For 2024, the provincial Cooperative Union has set out the main orientations and tasks to continue developing the collective economy and cooperatives in quantity and quality. New models will focus on applying high technology, digital transformation, and combining production and business in the supply and value chains. At the same time, it will strengthen cooperation with other economic sectors. The provincial Cooperative Union is also committed to closely coordinating with departments, sectors, and localities to effectively implement the Project on a new cooperative model according to Decision No. 167/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. The main objective is to make the collective economy sector, especially cooperatives, an important force supporting the province's socio-economic development.
