Binh Duong Province calls for investment from Belgian enterprises

DNHN - On April 22, the southern industrial hub of Binh Duong held a virtual conference to advertise its strengths and potential to Belgian investors.

The event was attended by Binh Duong Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Danh, Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Paul Jansen, and Vice President of the Belgian Vietnamese Alliance Andries Gryffroy, along with more than 100 Belgian enterprises.

As of March 2022, the province had attracted 4,042 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with total capital of 39.4 billion USD, of which there were 5 Belgian projects worth 39 million USD, ranking 37th among the 65 countries and territories with projects in Binh Duong.

The province has established cooperative relations with 11 foreign provinces and cities, including Belgium’s East Flanders.

At the conference, Binh Duong leaders provided information about areas of interest to Belgian investors such as policies on investment attraction, tax, labour training and worker salaries.

The province also highlighted its priorities in attracting FDI, including the green and circular economy, advanced and environmentally friendly technology, financial services, logistics, and high-tech agriculture.

A representative of Becamex IDC introduced the infrastructure projects that it is developing to meet the investment demand of enterprises as well as the orientation to transform Binh Duong into an innovation centre of the southern key economic region.

Concluding the conference, Binh Duong Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Danh pledged to create the best conditions for foreign investors, including those from Belgium, in the time ahead.
