DNHN - On the 22nd of February, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City. Sustainable Textile Solutions Joint Stock Company (STS) in collaboration with the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCMC) and Tengda Exhibition have announced that the International Exhibition high-class fabrics - Texfuture Vietnam 2023 with the theme "Vietnamese textiles: Stronger - Smarter - Greener" will be held from March 22 to March 24, 2023, at GEM Center, HCMC.
The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) collaborated with Sustainable Textile Solutions Joint Stock Company and Tengda Exhibition to implement the first event in Vietnam's textile industry in 2023.
Texfuture Vietnam 2023 is more than a typical Textile and Garment exhibition event; it is not only a meeting place and link between leading Vietnamese and international textile companies, but it also brings new global trends, directions, and technologies closer to Vietnamese businesses.
Vietnam's textile industry is an important economic sector. The textile and garment industry is not only the industry with the third-highest export turnover in the country, but it also contributes to the stabilization of social security. Currently, Vietnam's textile and garment industry employs 2.5 million people, exports more than 40 billion USD annually, and workers earn an average of $3,800 per year.
Even though the export turnover is high, the added value of the industry is still low, there has been no activity in the source of raw materials, and labor productivity is lower than in other countries in the region and only average. Vietnam's Textile and Garment industry faces the challenge of developing in-depth shortly, joining the global supply chain, and focusing on high-value stages such as product design advance along the global supply chain
In addition, the textile industry is one of the industries with the greatest environmental impact. Water and air pollution, greenhouse gases, and chemical emissions are crucial issues.
Consequently, new fabrics and advanced production technology are the primary trends in the textile industry. Textile mass digitization utilizes advanced IoT, AI, data analytics, and 3D technology tools. Not only do these technologies increase production efficiency, but they also adhere to sustainability standards.
Moreover, as clothing production is a highly competitive industry, textile companies are focusing more on innovative and creative marketing strategies. To accomplish this, participation in numerous industries within the textile ecosystem, such as fashion design, technology, and... is required.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong - Representative of Texfuture Vietnam 2023 Organizing Committee, and Director of External Affairs at STS, "Texfuture Vietnam 2023 is unique in that the presented fabric materials respect traditional production. A more holistic approach to systems that are both production-oriented and supportive of the planet, the ecosystem, and the international community. Encourage the participation of government, non-government, and private sector organizations in Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Japan, etc., to establish a textile and garment industry with added value. Increase, provide quality jobs, safeguard the environment, and contribute to economic development. The majority of fibers and raw materials used in the fashion and textile industry today, such as cotton, wool, viscose, and polyester, are derived from agriculture, forests, or fossil fuels. In addition to these four primary focus materials, Texfuture Vietnam 2023 will feature natural trending fabric materials such as fabric made from coffee fiber, a fabric made from pineapple fiber, green hemp, recycled fabric, etc.
During the announcement, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nam - Deputy Director of VCCI - HCM stated that in 2023, it is anticipated that manufacturing & exporting industries such as textiles and apparel will continue to face many challenges, as the global demand has not yet shown signs of recovery. recovery as the state of the global macro economy remains uncertain. The global demand for textiles and apparel is projected to be approximately 700 billion USD, an 8% decrease from 2022.
