Vinfast announces battery rental prices in the US market and activates NFT transactions

DNHN - VinFast officially disclosed the battery rental price for two models VF 8 and VF 9 in the US market on April 13, 2022, during the New York International Auto Show 2022 (NYIAS 2022). Simultaneously, VinFast launched the VinFirst NFT transaction on OpenSea, enabling a genuine trip experience on the VF 8 as well as standard Smart Services capabilities.
Two electric SUVs, the VF 8 and VF 9, will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2021 and are expected to be available in the US market in the second half of this year. The VF 8 will initially be available in two battery configurations, each having a maximum range of 260 miles on a single charge and 292 miles for the Eco version, and 248 miles and 277 miles for the Plus version.
The Eco variant is predicted to accelerate from 0-60 mph in roughly 5.8 seconds, while the Plus version accelerates in about 5.3 seconds. The VF 8 Eco is priced at $40,700 for the battery version 1 and $41,000 for the battery version 2. Battery versions 1 and 2 of the VF 8 Plus will cost $47,700 and $48,000, respectively.

The VF 9 will launch in the United States with two battery configurations offering a maximum range of 272 miles or 369 miles on a single charge for the Eco version and 262 miles or 360 miles for the Plus version. Both the VF 9 Eco accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 6.3 seconds.
In the United States, the VF 9 Eco is priced at $55,500 for the battery version 1 and $56,000 for the battery version 2. Similarly, the VF 9 Plus is priced at $60,500 for the two-battery version 1 and $61,000 for the two-battery version 2. Battery version 1 will be available in the United States in 2022, while version 2 will be available in 2023.

Along with product and pricing details, VinFast also made an official announcement regarding its battery rental policy in the United States. As a result, VinFast will offer two subscription packages: Fixed Package and Flexible Package.
The Flexible Plan is designed for consumers who travel seldom, costing $35 per month for the VF 8 and $44 per month for the VF 9. This pricing is valid for travel of up to 310 miles per month. Battery rental costs per mile begin at approximately $0.11 for the VF 8 and $0.15 for the VF9.
The VF 8 costs USD 110 per month and the VF 9 costs USD 160 per month, with no mileage restrictions. Customers who purchase the VF 8 or VF 9 in 2022 and subscribe to the Fixed subscription plan will pay the same price for the lifetime battery subscription. This policy is also automatically transferred to the new owner following the sale of the car.
VinFast is expected to apply a 100% battery rental policy to support customers until the end of 2023. After that, the company will adjust the proportion of 50% batteries for rent and 50% for sale with the car.
