Quang Ninh: Total tourism revenue in the first 3 months of 2024 is estimated to exceed VND 10,200 billion

DNHN - Quang Ninh province’s socio-economic picture has many bright spots in various sectors. In the tourism sector, the total number of visitors to Quang Ninh is estimated to reach over 5.3 million, an increase of 11%, reaching 105% of the growth scenario.

According to a report by Quang Ninh province, in the first 3 months of the year, about 30 cruise ships have docked at Ha Long International Passenger Port, carrying over 30,000 tourists from Northeast Asia, Europe, North America, etc. Cruise ship tourism has increased 20 times compared to the same period in 2023.
The total number of visitors to Quang Ninh is estimated to reach over 5.3 million, an increase of 11% over the same period, reaching 105% of the growth scenario. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach over 1.2 million, an increase of 410% over the same period. Total tourism revenue is estimated to reach over VND 10,200 billion, an increase of 10% over the same period.
Chinese tourists through Mong Cai international border gate in the first 3 months of the year are expected to reach over 200,000, approximately equal to the whole year of 2023.
These positive figures are the result of the province’s continuous diversification of tourism products, enhancing experiences, extending the length of stay, increasing visitors’ spending; preparing and implementing well the tourism activities at the beginning of the year, festival activities; organising the Conference on tourism promotion, advertising and investment attraction on the occasion of the Clipper Race round-the-world sailing boat race, season 2023 - 2024, arriving in Ha Long. At the same time, it strengthens regional connectivity and linkages in trade promotion activities, fairs and exhibitions, advertising, and international exchanges.
In the plan to stimulate the tourism market in 2024, Quang Ninh will have 26 programmes, events, and activities to stimulate international tourism at the national and provincial levels; 160 programmes, events, and activities to stimulate tourism at the local level will be organised throughout the province. This is expected to continue to increase the attractiveness of Quang Ninh tourism to domestic and international visitors.
It is expected that in the second quarter of 2024, the number of visitors to Ha Long Bay will soar as it enters the peak tourist season. In addition, there are many tourism stimulus activities in Quang Ninh province, notably the Ha Long Carnival 2024, the traditional Bach Dang Festival, the Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in Quang Ninh province, etc.
