Over 100 booths to participate in the 20th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival

DNHN - From 4th to 7th April 2024, the “20th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival” will take place in Ho Chi Minh City with the theme “20 years of a vibrant journey” linked to the programme message “Ho Chi Minh City welcomes you”.
The programme is chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism in coordination with the Tourism Association. This is also one of the activities to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2024). This is also the year towards responding to the 2024 National Tourism Year - “Dien Bien Phu Glory - Endless Experience”, contributing to promoting tourism development links with regions with the expectation that the city’s tourism industry will continue to have strong changes, accelerate steadily, contributing to the development of tourism and the economy of the whole country.
According to information from the press conference on the morning of March 26, 2024 from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, this year’s Tourism Festival will have the participation of more than 100 booths, including 43 booths from provinces and cities (An Giang, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Long An, Ben Tre, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dak Nong, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Thuan, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Son La, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, Quang Binh, Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Nghe An); 35 businesses operating tourism services and other units.
Following the success of the 10th Ao Dai Festival, the Tourism Festival is an event marking the special milestone of 20 years of a vibrant journey continuing to promote the image, land, people, cultural identity, tourism activities and cuisine characteristic of Ho Chi Minh City, while at the same time stimulating domestic tourism in the summer of 2024, creating conditions for localities and businesses to access and introduce tourism products and services to visitors, especially the people of the city, creating a series of rich, unique activities to emphasise that Ho Chi Minh City is always a “Safe - Attractive - Friendly” destination for domestic and foreign visitors.
According to Ms Nguyen Cam Tu - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Centre, this year’s Tourism Festival will have many highlights such as the Inner-city Tourism Programme with new and strange products alongside traditional products with nearly 40 programmes to explore Ho Chi Minh City from half a day to 3 days and 2 nights to explore important architectural works and those with historical and cultural values right in the heart of the city, planting trees, waterway products, new and strange night-time products reduced by up to 60% with prices from only 299,000 VND organised by the companies Chim Canh Cut, Doc Dao, Kiwi, Lua Viet, Saco, Saigontourist, Thien Nhien, TST, Vietravel, Vina group, Vietluxtour, Vietnam Travel Group, Viet Nam Adventure Tours, etc.
In particular, there are some new tourism products: Ho Chi Minh City, journeys that touch the emotions, visiting the Van Gogh multi-sensory art exhibition space; Ho Chi Minh City, a multi-coloured picture, enjoying the A O show, experiencing folk cuisine; Ho Chi Minh City - impressive journeys, discovering “Nha Be - A Thousand and One Nights”, experiencing a cooking class at a Michelin Selected restaurant and in the evening experiencing a vespa exploring the street food scene, etc.
The inter-regional tourism programme of the city with nearly 20 tourism programmes experiencing the very unique features of Ho Chi Minh City as well as the provinces of the Mekong Delta and the Southeast with promotional fares of up to 35% organised by the companies Chim Canh Cut, Duong mon chau A, Kiwi, Lua Viet, Phong Cach Viet, Saco, Saigontourist, Thien Nhien, TST, Vietravel, Viet Nam Adventure Tours, VinaGroup, etc. The domestic tourism programme to localities throughout the country with more than 100 tourism programmes to famous locations with promotional fares of up to 50%.
In addition to choosing practical tourism products for themselves, visitors and tourists have the opportunity to enjoy programmes such as acoustic, stilt parades, a workshop on painting bags/coasters/fans or making scented bags from coffee grounds; interactive activities on the Festival map; an exchange programme introducing culture and tourist destinations between provinces and cities, tourism businesses, the “Travelling to Taste” stimulus programme and in particular the Programme to Introduce and Promote the reality series about Ho Chi Minh City and the exchange with Miss Thuy Tien at 6:15 pm on April 6, 2024 on the main stage of the 23/9 park.
Alongside that are a series of seminars and conference activities to promote issues of concern to society, training human resources, the labour force, and business models according to new trends such as a seminar on transforming the tourism business model to update world trends; a conference to promote Nghe An tourism in Ho Chi Minh City; a conference to promote and advertise Thai Nguyen provincial tourism in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024; etc.
Mr Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, also emphasised: “With the aim of implementing the agreement to develop tourism between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities while at the same time contributing to stimulating domestic tourism; creating conditions for units and businesses in the city and the provinces and cities throughout the country to have the opportunity to introduce and promote their characteristic tourism products and services to domestic and international visitors, especially the visitor market in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as creating connections and business cooperation between businesses and businesses and between businesses and tourists, the Organising Committee hopes that tourism and service businesses will focus on investing in building quality tours and routes, diversifying products and services as well as having appropriate promotional forms… to join hands to stimulate tourism in Ho Chi Minh City and domestic tourism during the summer and major holidays. This is a good opportunity to improve business methods, apply digital technology, and increase the experience for visitors on each journey to visit and experience the business’s products and services, while at the same time maximising the role of businesses in connecting and building attractive, unique tourism products; promoting investment promotion activities in tourism, creating opportunities for cooperation and joint development between businesses in different localities”.
It is known that the opening ceremony of the 20th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival will take place at 7:00 pm on April 4, 2024, and the closing ceremony will take place at 8:00 pm on April 7, 2024, people and visitors will be able to enjoy unique and interesting programmes with the participation of many famous artists. In particular, after a long time accompanying the tourism industry to accelerate strong recovery, recognising the efforts of businesses operating tourism services, and at the same time creating a strong motivation for businesses to continue to develop, the Festival Organising Committee will also organise the Ho Chi Minh City Leading Tourism Award Ceremony in 2024 for many tourism businesses within the framework of the event’s opening ceremony.
