Ms Bui Thi Thanh Tra is the new chief executive officer of Tien Phong Securities (TPS)

DNHN - From July 26, 2022, Ms Bui Thi Thanh Tra will serve as General Director of Tien Phong Securities Joint Stock Company (TPS, HoSE: ORS).
Ms Bui Thi Thanh Tra, born in 1976, will be the first woman to serve as General Director of Tien Phong Securities. She has vast expertise in the fields of finance and securities, having held several prestigious positions inside businesses.
Ms Tra has held several prestigious positions in corporations, including Chairman of the Board of Directors, Board Member, and General Director at Sugar Corporation II - JSC, Binh Duong Agricultural Development Joint Stock Company, La Nga Sugar Joint Stock Company,...
As head of the Operations Division, Ms Tra joined and followed TPS from the earliest stages of its reorganization (March 2019) forward. At the time of her appointment as the General Director of TPS, Ms Tra was the Deputy General Director in charge of TPS's general operations. Before that, she was the Division Head for Investment Banking (IB) at TPS.
According to TPS, the appointment is part of the company's plan for robust and sustained development by its future strategic orientation.

Mr Tran Son Hai offered his retirement from the post of General Director of TPS for personal reasons on July 23, 2022. Immediately afterwards, TPS announced a decision to dismiss Mr Hai from his position as the company's General Director and legal representative.
The executive personnel change at Tien Phong Securities occurred after the company announced its financial statements for the second quarter with a loss of nearly VND 129 billion (completely reversing the profit of VND 53.7 billion of the previous quarter same period), basic earnings per share (EPS) was negative 645 dong, recording a negative profit for the first time since listing in 2019.
In the first half of the year, Tien Phong Securities reported a profit after tax of 92.5 billion dongs, a decrease of 38.6% compared to the same time last year, and completion of just 23.1% of its annual goal. According to the company's strategy, the after-tax profit forecast for this year is 400 billion dongs, a 90 per cent increase from 2021.
