Khoi Nguyen is back at the startup village with a new job

DNHN - Mr Khoi Nguyen, the previous CEO of WeFit, has officially taken up the post of CEO of startup Kien Guru after a two-year sabbatical (Small Classroom Education Joint Stock Company).

Mr Khoi Nguyen's new role is expected to help Kien Guru dominate the educational technology market in Vietnam, to break through technology to help students acquire holistic thinking and skills, preparing for the future era.

Kien Guru is a subsidiary of Ruangguru, the firm that operates Indonesia's largest online learning platform, with over 15 million students and 300,000 professors.

Recently, Ruangguru got a USD 150 million investment for a Series C capital round to develop the market, with Vietnam being the first strategic region in Southeast Asia in which Ruangguru decided to invest.

Nguyen Khoi, born in 1991, earned a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology (USA). WeFit, Khoi's "born child," is one of his enterprises that has gained success, including receiving the Potential Startup Award in the Startup Festival 2016 program by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Television.

Khoi Nguyen was named one of the top 10 typical young faces in Vietnam in 2017; one of the top three potential CEOs in 2016 at the Startup Festival program hosted by VTV; one of the top 16 young faces in the capital of exceptional start-ups in 2017; and one of Forbes' "30 under 30 Vietnam."

"I am passionate about technology and want to do some technologies in the domains of education and health that may make life more compassionate and beautiful," Khoi Nguyen once said. My main concerns are education and health."

Khoi Nguyen's proclamation of "four forms of death" while beginning a business at a young age, in particular, sparked widespread outrage.

As a result, there are four forms of "death":

One: "Death as a result of producing a product that no one uses." "Before you start doing anything, ask yourself: If this idea is fantastic, why hasn't anyone done it?" is the lesson gained from this dead stance. Or, if it has already been done, what distinguishes me from them?"

Second, "Set a goal to do something cool and excellent; all money is gone till the product is out." "Don't only sit and think of ideas; bring a product to market to test its practicality and see how far it can match market demand."

The third is "die due to a large number of users but the inability to convert to sales."

The fourth is "Die for money."

Mr Khoi Nguyen once posted material on EdTech looking for "teammates" for a new project around a month after WeFit filed bankruptcy (Educational Technology).

Customers of this EdTech firm, according to Mr Khoi's information, are kids in grades K-12, from kindergarten to grade 12. At the same time, Mr Khoi highlighted that this startup is led by an experienced founding team and is funded by a recognized venture capital firm.

"There is a conduit between what you want and what the world provides you in return," someone once stated. You fall into it, which is known as a failure, and you climb out of it, which is known as maturity." And Khoi Nguyen may have climbed over that canal. For him, every setback is a stepping stone toward success. Because there are innumerable lessons to be learned behind every "lost war." Human resource lessons and business lessons. Develop the confidence to face obstacles and persevere in the face of failure."

Kien Guru is an Indonesian education firm founded by Ruang Guru. Ruang Guru is Indonesia's largest online learning platform firm. When Ruang Guru moved internationally, Vietnam was one of the first locations, thanks in part to its geographical location as well as a taste for appreciating the value of education. In addition to Vietnam, Ruang Guru opened a branch in Thailand called Start Dee. Kien Guru, which was founded in 2019, offers online instruction to Vietnamese students in grades 1–12. Kien Guru now includes over 9,000 animated video lectures, a question bank with over 200,000 practice problems, test questions, and infographics, according to the introduction.
