Binh Tan District: Opening of the “Commercial-Service Street” to Stimulate Shopping During Tet

DNHN - At the opening ceremony of the “Commercial-Service Street”, Binh Tan District presented funds to care for people in difficult circumstances in the area and offered preferential programmes with gift vouchers.
The “Commercial-Service Street” in Binh Tan District aims to stimulate consumption during Tet and diversify payment methods, especially “cashless payments” through e-wallets, bank accounts, etc.
The “Commercial-Service Street” in Binh Tan District will be implemented in 3 phases. Phase 1 will be carried out from January 2024 on Vanh Dai Trong Street, Binh Tri Dong B Ward.
Phase 2 will be implemented in December 2024, expanding to Duong So 7 Street and Duong So 1 Street in Binh Tri Dong B Ward and An Lac A Ward.
Phase 3 will continue to be implemented in the first quarter of 2025, expanding to Ten Lua Street, Duong So 17A Street, and Binh Tri Dong B Ward.
In her opening speech, Ms Pham Thi Ngoc Dieu - Vice Chairwoman of Binh Tan District People’s Committee shared: “The launch of the “Commercial-Service Street” in Binh Tan District today is one of the activities to promote the development of trade and services in the district. Intending to build the “Commercial-Service Street” as a friendly - safe destination, ensuring quality and long-term effective operation, and leaving an impression on visitors, the district calls for the cooperation and consensus of the people and the business community to actively improve products and service quality, communication, behaviour, and standard business practices to serve tourists and people in the district.
We request that the departments and authorities of the wards strengthen their coordination, inspection, and reminders, and propose a management and operation plan that both creates conditions for business establishments to operate within the framework, ensuring the rights of customers; and protects the environment, creates a clean, beautiful, safe, and civilised landscape, raises awareness of providing trade and services for people and businesses, and aims for sustainable development, linked to the region, increasing budget revenue and raising the proportion of the district’s trade and service industry structure to meet the set targets.”
To promote economic development according to the goal of “Trade and service - industry, small industry and handicrafts”, in which trade and services play an important role in socio-economic development, Binh Tan District has focused on improving the effectiveness of investment attraction in the area, thereby gradually building and developing modern trade and services in line with the development trend of the whole country.
Gradually build and improve the quality of culinary and commercial business activities and service activities with unique characteristics of the district, serving the diverse needs of people in the district on the occasion of Tet, and Lunar New Year, and attracting tourists to the district to experience shopping and dining.
In the first phase, “Commercial-Service Street” has 110 businesses and business households participating with various types of businesses, rich and diverse, each store has a listed price and sells at the listed price, attracting hundreds of tourists to shop.
The “Commercial-Service Street” also brings a space for entertainment and tourism activities, contributing to the development of the spiritual life of the people.
In the programme to launch the “Commercial-Service Street”, Binh Tan District received more than VND 1 billion from philanthropists, benefactors, and businesses to support social security in the district.

The “Commercial-Service Street” in Binh Tan District will last until the end of February 9, 2024 (until the end of the 30th lunar day).
