DNHN - Since its launch on November 29, 2023, almost 4 months ago, nearly 60 partners have experienced the BIDV Open API system (with over 17,000 tests in the sandbox environment) and registered to integrate with BIDV after the experience.
With initial positive results, BIDV Open API is opening up opportunities for cooperation between BIDV and many partners developing software, fintech, bigtech, etc., supporting the acceleration of the integration of banking services onto new digital platforms.

Optimising the customer experience
BIDV Open API provides corporate customers, payment intermediaries, companies providing sales platforms, school management platforms, hotel management platforms, companies developing innovative technology solutions, etc. with the opportunity to experience API packages to integrate banking services directly onto their platforms/software/solutions.
BIDV has hundreds of specific APIs ready that can be flexibly customised for each partner. During the experience, the Bank was highly appreciated by partners for its ability to design in-depth solutions according to the partner’s business sector to bring maximum utility to users.
Of which, the 15 most frequently used API packages are divided into 04 groups: (i) Payment services (including services: corporate account balance inquiry, domestic money transfer, salary payment, bill payment, periodic bill payment registration, and reconciliation); (ii) Collection services (including services: corporate collection, small trader collection, automatic collection/disbursement reconciliation); (iii) Online payment services (including services: payment gateway, personal e-wallet, corporate e-wallet); (iv) Utilities (including services: Bank information such as network, interest rates, exchange rates…, BIDV QR Code).
Mr Nguyen Chien Thang - Director of BIDV Digital Banking Development Centre shared: “Banking services are becoming more and more interesting when hundreds of products and services linked to third parties are integrated with the banking platform ecosystem, thereby bringing maximum benefits and enhancing the user experience. To achieve this, the core is API (Application Programming Interface) technology that helps connect ecosystems, between the bank and third parties and vice versa. Thanks to that, customers can use a wide range of banking functions.”
Outstanding financial ecosystem
Intending to help customers access and use banking services quickly, automatically, and more seamlessly, the cooperation between BIDV and partners providing information technology applications/platforms has initiated the formation of a financial ecosystem in the future, bringing outstanding benefits.
Accordingly, the enterprise ERP application is fully integrated with the bank’s balance inquiry, payment, and collection services, thereby providing customers with a consistent experience with the provided bank transaction channel. Sales management, hotel management, and school management platforms have added the collection function via designated accounts, significantly improving revenue management efficiency when invoices are quickly cleared, and results are displayed instantly on the platform.

Ms Do Thi Thanh Huyen - Director of the BIDV Wholesale Product Policy Department said: “Grasping market trends and needs, we have made efforts to develop and launch the BIDV Open API system to promote the digital transformation process of businesses in Vietnam and bring the bank’s services closer to customers, significantly reducing the time to connect with partners… The BIDV ecosystem is ready to accompany customers, partners, and creative developers to bring the most optimal financial products and services, meeting the maximum needs of customers. In the coming time, we will continue to expand new API packages for trade finance, guarantee, and supply chain finance services through the connection between core businesses and distributors on new platforms.”
