Accordingly, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon, chairman of Nova Group, is the latest Vietnamese billionaire named in the Forbes list. On April 5, Mr. Nhon owned a net worth of 2.9 billion USD, ranked 1,053th in the world.

Before entering the real estate industry, Nova Group's chairman graduated with a bachelor's degree in agriculture, an Executive MBA, HSB - Tuck at Dartmouth College, USA. 

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon used to work at the Agriculture Department of Nha Be District People's Committee and Level I Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Materials Company in Ho Chi Minh City. He then started his career in the veterinary medicine business in 1992.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon served as Chairman of the Members' Council of Thanh Nhon Selling Co., Ltd. from 1992 to 2007, a company specializing in the trading of veterinary pharmaceuticals, medicinal materials, and chemicals with a charter capital of 400 million dong. 

During the preceding decade, he formed a joint venture with the Philippines to establish the veterinary medication manufacturing joint venture Biophamachemie, extending the distribution network both domestically and internationally. 

In addition, Mr. Nhon also established N & M company, later renamed Anovatrade JSC, cooperated with Japanese leading company Mitsui to establish amino acid distribution system for Vietnam market. 

Bui Thanh Nhon and Nova Group's promotion journey in real estate began in 2007. Thanh Nhon Trading Co., Ltd. has been restructured into two units, namely Anova JSC and Group Joint Stock Company. Real Estate Investment No Va (Novaland). 

In which, Anova Joint Stock Company operates in the fields of animal feed, livestock farms, veterinary drugs, vaccines, while Novaland mainly operates in the real estate segment, focusing on developing projects in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces. southern. 

Novaland has developed together with the Vietnamese real estate market. In 2016, Novaland marked a big turning point when it was officially listed on the stock exchange with the stock code NVL. With the listed share price at that time was 50,000 VND/share, Novaland became one of the leading real estate enterprises with market capitalization value in Vietnam. 

Since then, Novaland has continuously maintained its position in the VN30 group, in the VNSI basket. At the same time, as one of the few Vietnamese enterprises with a high reputation in the international capital market, having listed bonds twice on the Singapore Stock Exchange, as well as having many financing partners who are banks, Well-known financial institutions such as Credit Suisse AG, Standard Chartered, DEG (Investment Fund of German Reconstruction Bank KFW)... 

In 2019, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon once ranked 8th among the 10 richest people on the Vietnam stock exchange. By March 2021, he had become the 6th richest person on the Vietnamese stock exchange with a fortune of about VND 17,000 billion.

According to Novaland's annual report, by 2021, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon holds 275,150,364 shares, equivalent to 14.253% of the corporation's shares. In addition, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon is also a member of the board of directors at a number of other companies, such as Diamond Properties JSC, NovaGroup JSC, NSQ Investment Development JSC, Nova Holding JSC.

Earlier this year, according to an announcement from No Va Real Estate Group Joint Stock Company, in order to focus on leading NovaGroup in the post-restructuring period, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon decided to hand over the power and position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Novaland to Mr. Bui Xuan Huy.

Besides, Novaland's Board of Directors also announced the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huyen to the position of General Director, and the appointment of Ms. Duong Thi Thu Thuy and Ms. Vo Thi Cao Ly to the positions of Deputy General Directors.
