The very first Congress of the Vietnam-Southeast Asia Friendship Association (period 2022-2027) in Ho Chi Minh City

DNHN - On the morning of June 10, 2022, at the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations Hall. The Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, which is part of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, successfully hosted the inaugural Congress of Delegates for the 2022-2027 period in Ho Chi Minh City.

Fifty-eight representatives from nine branches and one connected centre attended the conference. The General Meeting adopted the report describing the Association's operations from 1995 to the present, as well as the direction, tasks, and resolution for the first term of the congress: 2022-2027.

Assoc. Dr Phan Thi Hong Xuan - President of the Association (1995-2022) delivered the opening speech emphasising: IMPROVING THE SELF-CONSCIOUS RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM TO BUILDING THE FRIENDSHIP IN VIETNAM - SOUTHEAST ASIA HCMC UNITY, DYNAMIC, CREATIVITY, DEVELOPMENT, INTEGRAL.

The first term of congress: 2022-2027 highlights the Executive Committee members' daring and commitment to innovate and create for growth and integration, constructing a civilized, modern, and meaningful Ho Chi Minh City.

On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, Ms Tran Hoang Khanh Van - Vice President delivered a congratulatory speech to congratulate and praise the achievements of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association in the 1995-2022 term; at the same time suggest: “During the term 2022 - 2027, the Association should pay more attention to the work of gathering forces; strengthen the development of members, especially the Vietnam - Southeast Asia business club; building a logo as a brand identity; closely follow Directive 38/ CT - TW ON CONTINUING INNOVATION, PROMOTING ROLE AND INCREASE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF OPERATION OF THE VIETNAM UNION OF FRIENDSHIP ORGANIZATIONS IN THE NEW SITUATION; link and coordinate activities with unions of friendship organizations in the southern provinces, bilateral friendship branches of Vietnam and ASEAN member countries, etc."  

Dr Sok Dareth, Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the country holding the rotating presidency of ASEAN 2022, congratulated the Congress on its success, expressing his belief that under the creative and enthusiastic leadership of the Association's Chairman, Mr. with the support of members of the Executive Committee, the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City. In the spirit of "people-oriented and people-centred", Ho Chi Minh City will complete the set goals and plans, actively contribute to the development, consolidation, and expansion of friendly relations, and promote solidarity and closer cooperation among the people of the ASEAN Community countries. ASEAN Friendship Association City, Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City will actively and effectively contribute to the execution of people-to-people diplomacy, which is one of the three pillars of the 13th Communist Party of Vietnam Congress's foreign policy program.

The Congress strongly supported the operational orientation for the time 2022-2027 and elected an executive committee of 19 members, including The President is Assoc. Dr Phan Thi Hong Xuan and the Vice Presidents are HT. Dr. Thich Thien Tam and Dr. Le Tuan Khanh.
