DNHN - Businesses belonging to the Business Club and the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association have contributed nearly 700 million VND to the free eye surgery programme for 200 patients, donated 6 charity houses and 200 gifts to people in need.
On 6 March, the Business Club and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association held a meeting of outstanding businesspeople from Ho Chi Minh City and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association; Mr Chan Sorykan, Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations and more than 40 businesspeople from Vietnam and Cambodia.
The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, Chairman of the Business Club and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, Trang Huu Nghia, gave a positive assessment of the exchange, twinning and trade cooperation events between Ho Chi Minh City businesses and partners in the Kingdom of Cambodia in recent times. These activities have not only been effective but have also made an important contribution to increasing the value of trade between the two countries, as well as promoting people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and Cambodia, supporting people in need in the localities, especially the Khmer people.
At the same time, the Business Club and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association have stepped up their support for Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City by organising gift-giving programmes, awarding scholarships and providing means of transport.
With the successes achieved, in 2024, the Business Club and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association have set a strong goal of promoting cooperation in production and trade between Ho Chi Minh City businesses and Cambodian businesses. They will continue to strengthen the connection between trade activities and people-to-people diplomacy, focusing on areas where Ho Chi Minh City businesses have strengths with businesses in Cambodian localities.
On this occasion, representatives of businesses belonging to the Business Club and the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association contributed a total of nearly 700 million VND to the free eye surgery programme for 200 patients, donated 6 charity houses and 200 gifts to people in need in the localities where the Khmer people live.
