DNHN - Identifying the theme of the work in 2024: “Acceleration - Discipline - Specific products”, right from the start of the year, the city’s leaders have focused on important investment preparation projects to create momentum for the city’s development.
Mr Bui Ngoc Anh - Chairman of Tam Ky City People’s Committee shared that 2024 is an important year in implementing the goals and tasks set out by the 21st City Party Congress, therefore, right from the beginning of the year, the city’s leaders have focused on groups of important investment preparation projects to create momentum for the city’s development to be implemented in 2024 and the projects started to welcome the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the homeland, welcoming the 22nd City Party Congress.
There are some projects to build key infrastructure, creating momentum for socio-economic development such as the Western Ring Road; nature reserve, biodiversity conservation of Dam River; Western flood canal project (from Ong Dung culvert to Tam Ky River); road and embankment project on the East side of Ky Phu - Ban Thach River, Sea Square, Ban Thach Riverside Park, Huynh Thuc Khang drainage to Ban Thach River, etc.
Focus on investing in restoring the Dam River ecosystem, linking Ky Anh tunnel; completing the planning design of Ca Ban village, Huong Tra, Tam Thanh community art village, etc. Investing in upgrading the infrastructure of Ha Thanh and Tinh Thuy bathing areas to serve marine business activities; continuing implementing Project 01 billion green trees; planting forests on hills, coastal protection forests; restoring and building the Dam River ecosystem, etc.
In addition, completing the compensation and clearance of the remaining area of Thuan Yen Industrial Park in 2024, striving to attract at least 02 investors to the industrial park. Coordinate with the investor of Tam Thang 1 & 2 Industrial Park to accelerate the progress of compensation-clearance-resettlement, and promote investment attraction following the orientation (clean industry, high technology, high added value).
Completing the compensation and clearance work to promote the progress of key projects such as Nguyen Hoang Ring Road, N10 Road (Hung Vuong - Nguyen Dinh Chieu section), New Bus Station (An Son), Thuan Yen Industrial Park, Tay Bac residential and resettlement area on Thanh Hoa Road, Block 4 residential and resettlement area - An Son, Lam Son - Tran Dai Nghia connecting road (Tan Thanh), Group 10 - An My, My Thach Trung - Hoa Thuan residential area, Nguyen Tat Thanh Park, social welfare park complex which provides care for the elderly in An Phu ward, etc.
According to Mr Anh, in 2023, the world has many fluctuations, the economy recovered slowly after the pandemic, and the economic situation of the province and the city still face many difficulties, but the socio-economic situation of the city has achieved many important results. The economy recovers and grows, the value of trade - services increases by 6% over the same period. The total budget revenue is estimated at VND 2,568.38 billion, reaching 141% of the provincial estimate and 134.2% of the city’s estimate.
Projects to invest in basic construction, especially projects on education, infrastructure connection, urban upgrading, construction of new residential areas, resettlement, and landscape renovation to serve tourism. The city’s public investment disbursement in 2023 reached over 90%. Projects for agricultural development, project 01 billion green trees, and the national target program for new rural development are being implemented strongly and effectively.
Planning management and urban areas management continue to be completed and adjusted, which eliminates 10/16 suspended planning projects. The land use plan for 2030 has been completed. The review and establishment of a file to manage the surplus land and 5% of public land in the area for management has also been fulfilled.
Administrative reform associated with digital transformation and smart city development has also achieved positive results. The smart city project is completed. In 2023, Tam Ky rose to second place in the province in administrative reform.
In 2023, besides the achieved results, there are still shortcomings and limitations, that is, the production value of industry, trade, and services has not reached the set plan; economic revenue generated by the city’s management is not up to the estimated; the review of planning projects has not reached the set plan, so far 9/16 projects have not been completed; the work of promoting and attracting investment is of concern but there are no specific products; the progress of compensation and clearance in some projects still does not meet the requirements.
