Nghe An Receiving Over VND140.7 Billion in Support of “Tet for the Poor - Lunar New Year 2024”

DNHN - At the “Tet for the Poor - Lunar New Year 2024” programme organised by the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee - People’s Council - People’s Committee - VFF Committee, 207 organisations, individuals and businesses pledged over VND140.7 billion.
Attending the above programme, from the Central Government, were Mr Vuong Dinh Hue - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture and Education; and representatives of leaders of ministries, sectors, and agencies.
On the Nghe An side, the attendees were Mr Thai Thanh Quy - a Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr Nguyen Van Thong - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee; Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People’s Council, Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, leaders of provincial departments, sectors, and mass organisations; leaders of districts, towns, and cities; agencies, units, businesses, collectives, and individuals inside and outside Nghe An province.
At this programme, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue directly presented gifts to 13 poor households in extremely difficult circumstances. Immediately afterwards, the leaders of Nghe An province received support and awarded certificates of merit to thank the kind gestures of units, collectives, businesses, and individuals who had made efforts and joined hands to care for the poor in Nghe An province during the Lunar New Year 2024. According to the announcement of the Organising Committee, as of 9:40 p.m. on January 21, the “Tet for the Poor - Lunar New Year 2024” programme organised by the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee - People’s Council - People’s Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee had 207 agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists registering to support with a total amount of over VND140.7 billion.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr Nguyen Duc Trung - Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee expressed his gratitude, recognition, and deep thanks for the loving hearts and noble gestures of agencies, organisations, units, and individuals at home and abroad, especially businesses and entrepreneurs who, despite very difficult conditions, had actively responded to and supported the Fund for the Poor at all levels and Nghe An’s social security programmes. At the same time, the Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee emphasised that, in response to the appeal of the Provincial Party Committee Secretary, in recent days, agencies, businesses, and philanthropists, with the spirit of “mutual affection and mutual love,” had enthusiastically participated in contributing and supporting the poor in Nghe An to celebrate Tet. Therefore, I am glad to announce that so far, the Nghe An “Tet for the Poor - Lunar New Year 2024” programme has raised more than VND140 billion. In the difficult conditions of 2023, the contributions of organisations, individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs are even more meaningful, demonstrating noble gestures and a sense of love that is đáng trân trọng for the poor every time Tet comes and spring arrives”.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Trung called on Party committees, authorities at all levels, organisations, businesses, and individuals inside and outside the province, and the audience watching television to continue to care for and celebrate Tet for the poor to ensure the practical significance of the programme in the spirit of “working together for the poor, leaving no one behind, so that all people can enjoy the spring and celebrate Tet.” Nghe An province will direct agencies, units, and localities to allocate and deliver to the poor the gifts received from this programme, ensuring fairness and timeliness. Besides, it is hoped that the poor and those in difficult circumstances will further promote their self-reliance, self-improvement, focus on labour, and have the aspiration to rise out of poverty sustainably to join hands in caring for the poor in similar circumstances according to the principle of “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, the more torn leaves cover the less torn leaves.”
On this occasion, on behalf of the Party Committee, the authorities, and the people of the province, the Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Duc Trung, respectfully thanked Mr Vuong Dinh Hue - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly, for visiting, presenting Tet gifts to the poor in Nghi Loc and Yen Thanh districts, and taking the time to attend the Nghe An province’s “Tet for the Poor” programme. In the coming time, Nghe An province hopes to continue to receive more attention from him.
