The Ministry of Finance officially announced Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh's appointment as General Director of the General Department of Taxation on September 6, 2023. This decision, signed by Finance Minister Ho Duc Phuc, marked a significant step in the career of Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh.
Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh, who was born in 1968 and hails from the district of Hai Hau in the province of Nam Dinh, is a seasoned financial expert. He graduated from the University of Finance and Accounting and has worked in the field of finance for over 30 years.
In September 1994, Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh began his career in the financial industry by joining the General Department of Customs. He has held many important positions in the industry, including Deputy Director of the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, Director of the Kien Giang Customs Department, Director of the Inspection and Inspection Department, and finally Deputy Director of the General Department of Customs.
