DNHN - With this partnership, Gojek becomes the first ride-hailing company in Vietnam to offer electric motorcycle passenger transportation in addition to its other on-demand services.
Gojek, the leading on-demand multi-service technology platform in Southeast Asia, and Dat Bike, one of Vietnam's electric motorcycle brands, announced a pilot cooperation in the use of electric motorcycles to serve the travel, delivery, and food delivery needs of Gojek users in Vietnam on May 18.
With this partnership, Gojek becomes the first ride-hailing company in Vietnam to deploy electric scooter passenger transportation in addition to other on-demand services and the first technology platform to integrate with Dat Bike.
Dat Bike will provide Gojek driver partners with Dat Bike Weaver++ to provide passenger (GoRide), food delivery (GoFood), and delivery (GoSend) services in Vietnam.
"The use of Dat Bike Weaver++ electric vehicles can help Gojek driver partners reduce fuel costs by more than four times compared to gasoline-powered vehicles, thereby substantially reducing operating expenses and contributing to environmental protection." "By stopping waste discharge," emphasized the Gojek representative.
Today, May 18, the Weaver++ electric motorcycle delivery and transportation service will debut in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Dat Bike Weaver++ electric motorcycle has a top speed of 90 km/h and a range of 200 km per full charge in 3 hours, allowing partners to maintain both performance and income.
In particular, drivers in Ho Chi Minh City can charge their batteries for free at dozens of community charging stations. In addition, Weaver++ is equipped with a fast-charging port that allows the first 100 kilometers to be charged in just 20 minutes at Dat Bike's fast-charging station and in just one hour at a standard household outlet.
According to Mr. Son Nguyen, CEO of Dat Bike, this project is part of Dat Bike's grand vision to convert all gasoline motorcycles in Vietnam and Southeast Asia to electric motorcycles.
"The force of technology driving partners is enormous, as is the demand for automobile use. Through this pilot, Dat Bike hopes to convince more users, including competitors. CEO of Dat Bike stated that the company is "driving technology on the power and utility that electric vehicles can bring, accelerating the transition to green vehicles for a cleaner environment."
Mr. Sumit Rathor, General Director of Gojek Vietnam, stated, "Vietnam is an important market for Gojek, and our mission is to continue to provide users with effective solutions that facilitate their expansion. Sustainable growth of partners, delivering quality and convenient service at an affordable price.
Collaborative projects such as this one are crucial, as they benefit our entire ecosystem, enable us to provide even more value to all users, and have a positive impact on the communities in which we operate."
Mr. Sumit Rathor added, "The partnership between Gojek Vietnam and Dat Bike is an integral part of the GoTo Group's "Three Nos" commitment, supporting Gojek's ongoing efforts in emissions reduction and vehicle conversion to 100% electric vehicles.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Canh Son, a gifted software engineer who has received numerous national and international technology awards, founded Dat Bike in 2019 as a Vietnamese electric motorcycle manufacturing startup. After leaving Silicon Valley (United States) to return to Vietnam, Mr. Son founded Dat Bike to change the Vietnamese people's preference from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric vehicles.
Since its founding, Dat Bike has introduced three models of electric motorcycles: Weaver, Weaver 200, and Weaver++. By the end of 2022, this startup will have successfully raised 16.5 million USD and will have set the goal of becoming the leading Vietnamese manufacturer to "green" the 25 billion USD 2-wheeler market in Southeast Asia.
